Proud as a Peacock

This is one of my favorite images from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, I have wanted to attempt it forever!  I am really happy with how it came out too.  I printed it twice once on the new Mod Summer Papers, which I changed to the color blue and again on white card stock.  I colored the big centers on the white cs in with my 3 different colors of Letraset Pro Markers, then cut them out and pasted them onto the blue print.  I did some shading on the blue print along with a ton of Stickles, I outlined just about everything with Stickles.  The picture truly does not show the sparkle I have going on here.   The gorgeous jewels are from Pizzazz APlenty the StampinUp background paper matched the embossing plate and that lace reminded me of the peacocks fan. Both of these sets are on sale today,  Lindsay's Stamp Stuff and MyGraphico are having a  1 day 40% off sale.  Please check out the bargains, you will kick yourself if you don't!  Thanks for looking, I really appreciate all of your sweet comments, ~Diane.

Sew Sweet

What a fun SVG to work with, this sweet little sewing machine from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff cut like butter.  So did the pretty doily from La.La. Studio, another MyGraphico designer.  I cut the machine in black and in silver, I love all the details she added to this cut.  The buttons are Stampin Up and the twine is from Pizazz A Plenty.  The stitched card stock is from a Sams Club jumbo pack I split with a friend a few years ago.  The vintage lace is from a tag sale and the fabric flower is from my fabric stash.   Be sure to stop by Lindsay's blog along with her other talented designers to see fabulous work they have done.
Well, we are still working on the back splash, ran into a few challenges but we are hopefully getting over them, Mr Perfect needed to be persuaded that it did indeed look good like this, lol.  Thanks for stopping by to have a look.  ~Diane

Birthday card

Enabler alert!  Stop by MyGraphico and grab all those goodies you have had your eyes on at a 40% savings!  Lindsay has a new set, these fabulous Mod Summer Papers!  I made this card for a friend's Birthday using the new Mod Paper set and a free eye chart image from Lindsay.  I found a new way to attach the brads, I clipped the legs off and attached them with a foam dimensional, so much easier!  I love how easy it was to put these papers together too.  Be sure to stop by and see Lindsay's blog and the rest of the design team too, they always have so much inspiration.
The remodel is moving along but we still have not found our way to the floors, the main reason for the remodel  lol.  The glass tiles for the back splash arrived last night, I am so excited!  I found some awesome wall plates that are made of clear beveled glass, so I can paint them to match the tiles.  Thank goodness for the www, I have not liked any of the options I've seen in stores for the wall switches, they all seem to stick out like a sore thumb.  Anyone doing a back splash should check this online store out Arnev Products Inc.  I must say I never would have thought this back splash would  be such a difficult thing to design.  Now my dear, dear husband gets to do all the hard work installing it, this should be fun, he is a perfectionist.  I've shared with my friends his obsession with doing it right.  He was using a 48" double fluorescent bulb shop light, (the kind you hang over a work bench) shining it at every angle he could to find imperfections in the walls and ceilings.  He found 47 nail pops/imperfections in the great room ceiling alone.  We had to mark them with tape so he could go back with a magnet and find them again to fix them.  Yea, the tape was needed because if the light was not shining from the exact same angle they disappeared and you could not see them, lol.  That is how he painted the whole house!
All the walls are patched and painted, thank goodness and I must say, my ceiling's and walls look as smooth as a baby's bottom now .  Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Classroom Managment

My daughter asked me to case this idea from another teachers website, One Extra Degree.  She used wooden cupcakes for hers, and she cased it from First Grader at Last who used brownies.  I used the clip art from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Cupcake Variety Pack to make mine.  Magnetic tape is attached to the back of the cupcakes so they will hold to the cookie sheet.  I also took mine to the Teachers Store and laminated them so they will last.  As you can see I also added in some of my favorite LSS paper, Bold Black and White.  Teachers use this for behavior management in the classroom,  the students earn cupcakes by getting compliments for great behavior from other teachers, working together as a class on assignments, hard work from all students during literacy or math stations, or just any other thing they do as a class that shows great behavior! When the pan is full of cupcakes, the kids get a party to celebrate their hard work!

Back to school prep and 1 day sale!

How fun is this!  My daughter teaches 3rd grade at a year round school in Kentucky.  I made this banner for her classroom using the Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Movie Party Banner and Candy Wrapper set.  I just printed out the image with the blank yellow circle, cut the letters and added a free SVG border from Bird's Blog.  My daughter took the pic with her camera phone of how it looks over her doorway.  I made this as a  surprise for her and I can't believe the color combo worked out so perfectly with the yellow door frame and blue walls!
Talk about working out perfectly, check out the 40% off sale at MyGraphico!  Lindsay has so many great digital and cut files just begging to be made into classroom decorations. Check out all the MyGraphico Designers sales (I know I will be), there's no better time to shop!

Feast or famine!

I made these cards with Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Cupcake Carrier SVG set.  Don't miss out on the MyGraphico 1 day sale 7/14/11, 40% off everything, including this sweet set!
It was a breeze to make these, even with most of my supplies moved out of my craft room.  I could not get to all my papers so I used the same paper for the first 3 cards, used some glimmer mist and color wash to change it up a bit.  I cut out the Lindsays Stamp Stuff Cupcakes Carrier cupcake pieces with my SCAL software easy peasy, and made the lines with my Martha Stewart score board, then used a little Tim Holtz distress ink to color in the cupcake wrappers.  The cherries and flames were sparkled up with some stickles, except the one I used my Atyou Spica pen to glitter up.  The pink glitter was so easy to apply with Scrapbook Adhesives adhesive sheets.
I am really sorry I have not been visiting or creating much, it just feels so chaotic with everything I own scattered around, even my computer.  I am a really organized person so this really messes with my head.   I appreciate all of your comments and well wishes, the remodel is moving along.  I can't wait till it is done and I can go back to the way things were before.  I really appreciate your understanding especially Lindsay, thank you all.

Thank you Lacee and the Bella's

First off I want to thank Lacee from Bella Creations.  Whoo hoo, I won the gorgeous mini kit Heavenly from the June blog hop.  It arrived last night and it is full of goodies that she put together.  I can't wait to dig into it!  Stop by to see her latest kit, it's awesome too!  Speaking of Bella's, I made this card for 3 different groups over at Bella Creations.  Voila Ink has challenged us to make a Fathers Day item, anything but a tag.  It must include some inking and as an optional twist, use masking somewhere on the project.  And the Oh la la group is accepting cards this month so it qualifies for that Bella challenge also!  I used Memento Brown ink to stamp the message "so thankful for you".  "For You" did not stamp out well so I used some inspiration from Pops work and stamped it again on some cardboard.  I like the added texture it gives.  I used a Tim Holtz mask with broken china blue ink also.  The image was provided by  Gecko Galz for the June challenge at Cartes Classiques, another group at Bella Creations The dp is a Graphics Fairy old french map.  I would love to see you join one of the many challenges over at the Bella Creations community, so many wonderful sponsors are there too.

29 ...Again?

I made this card for the Stampsmith Birthday card challenge  using one of their awesome rubber stamps from the Those Were the Days full sheet..  I love all the detail in these stamps!  The inside of the card reads 29...Again?  My dear friend Nancy will get a kick out of this one.  On a side note, I am sorry I am not around a lot, I am not making any cards either.  We are really into the thick of this home modernization and it is taking up a lot of my crafting time and energy.  I really can't wait till it is done but it does not look like that will be any time soon.

Traveler in time

This was so much fun to make!  I used Inka's Altered Artifacts new set Monkey Bizz and Steampunks to make this.  I also used some of her free images to keep it pure.  The fish was cut out of a piece of wrapping paper, I thought it added the right touch.  I don't know if you can see I used Stickles on the birds and on the fish.  I sprayed the background ledger paper with Tattered Angels Wheatfields and used Tim Holtz tea dye on the torn edges, I also let it curl up a bit.  The doilies were sprayed with TH butterscotch, and lettuce green along with the firebrick red dauber.  I also used some Stampin Up Crystal Effects on the clock faces and on the young man's eye glass. Stop by Inka's Altered Artifacts Etsy shop to see more fun images like this.

Think summer!

I made this with Lindsay's Summer Fun SVG and Printable set.   Be sure to stop by her blog The Frugal Crafter and see what she has to share, it's always something interesting.   This is a great set for kids party's!  My girlfriend said she saw the cutest card with 3 sandals on the front, they made her smile so could I make her a set of them.  Wait a minute, that was 3 pairs of sandals, sure no problem.  I fussed and fussed and I am still not 100% pleased, it needs something other than the button, hope I figure it out before we meet for lunch next week.  See that piece of twine, I am entering the Spicy Supply challenge at Gingersnap Creations
Sorry I have not been posting much these last couple of weeks.  We are re modeling and that seems to be taking up a lot of energy lately.  So many decisions to make, some days my mind is just spinning.  We probably should have done more throughout the years, because now it all needs to be done at once!  Exciting and scary at the same time, I am so worried I will mess it up!  I will try to get a few more cards done soon.
Thanks for looking.  ~Diane
I changed my card and the picture of it.  I took my friend Gerri's suggestion to widen up the twine and add a little more.  I think it looks much better now, thanks Gerri!

Thank you Stampsmith

I won a gift certificate to the Stampsmith Store in a random draw at The Stampsmith blog.  Talk about a tough time deciding!  All of their stamps are beautiful and detailed beyond belief!  Thank you Estelle and Lynn I just love these stamps!  Not only did she send me the stamps I ordered, she sent me 4 extras too!  Well, I guess you can you tell Marilyn is my favorite, I just couldn't wait to ink her up, I had to use her first!  She is so beautiful, I love how she is shaded so beautifully and you can actually see the tulle dress.  I did not do any coloring, I just rolled her with a brayer and stamped her out!  I just wish she had been a Mother, since that is the challenge at Stampsmith Challenge, but that's OK I have quite a few more that I will be able to use for the Mothers challenge.  Here is a teaser of the cool images I got from Stampsmith.
I love working with full sheets of stamps too, they are so easy to mount on to the cling cushion and with so little waste.  I buy my cling cushion at Stampers Best, there is a coupon in my sidebar, if you use it, you will get 10% off and I get a few pennies for referring you too.  It is excellent cushion and very reasonably priced too.
Thanks for looking, and thank you again Stampsmith.  ~Diane
