Bunny and Chicks

This card took forever to make!  I had no problem doing all the fussy cutting I did to layer it up, it was choosing a lay out and a paper that drove me wild!  I am happy with the final results and I guess that's all that matters.  I bought that sweet tulip trim about 2 years ago, finally found the right card to put it on.  The image is from Free Vintage Clipart.

Now whose feathers are ruffled?

I made this card using Scrolls Work #4071 Ruffled Feathers.  She is such a beautiful and detailed stamp.  The large cage is from Graphics Fairy, I really had fun with this one.  My wild little bird trying to feed her a fish was a clearance charm from Joanns.   The pearl brad is from Pizzazz Aplenty and I added some Stickles to my torn lace bow.

Bunny Pair

I made this card for the Bella Unique challenge, this challenge want's you to try and make your own bling flourishes. I used the recommended Liquid Pearls along with a  Bazzill jewel template, I traced the dots onto the cs and went over it with Liquid Pearls twice, the first attempt they were too small and did not look like pearls so I made them a bit larger.  The image is from Graphics Fairy, cs is DCWV and Stampin Up.
The beautiful flowers are from Pizzazz Aplenty.  I can not say enough nice things about that store.  Judy is always so generous with her samples and they are separate from  the gift with purchase she offers.  Her products are beautiful and unique, her customer service is second to none and her prices are beyond reasonable.  This is not a paid promotion, I am just so happy to have found her I want to share her store with all of you.  I have 2 pictures to share with you.  One is what I ordered the other is the gift with purchase and free samples she sent along.  My order came to $17.75 plus $3.00 shipping, so I was able to cart all of this away for the small price of $20.75!  I love the $3.00 shipping!  I love all the beautiful bling I found here too!  And on top of all of that I love the way she packages it all up.  I can remove the header from the bags and I have my beautiful bling in a tiny resealable zip lock bag!  You can follow her blog so you will see all the latest specials  and the new products she is always bringing in.

Easter Greetings

Yes, another card with my favorite paper, it is just so versatile.  I used Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Bold Black and White and changed it to a gray tone in Word.  The Easter message was a freebie Lindsay offered long before I joined her team.  That awesome shading was already done for me on the stamp.  I cut it out 3 times and added some mounting foam between the layers.  Really easy card to make, I guess for me this is CAS.  Check out Lindsay's blog The Frugal Crafter to see what goodies she has to share this week.  Don't forget to go back tomorrow to see a recap of everyone's work.

Tranquility

The people of Japan have been on my mind and in my heart, I hope they can find tranquility someday soon.   Scrolls Work has a wonderful collection of high quality Asian stamps.  I used the  Scrolls Work Stamp #6335 Tranquility along with the Japanese figure from The Sum of all Crafts.  The paper is Websters Vellum Collection 2 and Stampin Up.  I also used Stickles on the butterfly and the trim.

Japan, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I made this card with a heavy heart thinking of the terrible tragedy unfolding in Japan right now.  I hope the citizens know we are all holding them dearly in our hearts and in our prayers.  My heart goes out to all of you.  I made this with the Scrolls Work stamp Large Shika in honor of our friends in Japan.   I stamped her in black memento ink and added some fine gold embossing powder, to highlight the beautiful garment.  I used a digital print from Dover for the stained glass, printed on vellum then mounted on to clear acetate.

CSN blog candy giveaway!

I have some exciting news for you!  I was recently contacted by Sean from CSN Stores and I have been offered the opportunity to give away a CSN $45.00 gift certificate to someone who follows my blog.  You can use it for ANY product(s) from CSN Stores. The gift certificate does not cover shipping costs and in case you want to buy stuff worth more than $45.00, the $45.00 will be deducted from your total!   CSN Stores have a huge variety of items and many items ship for free to the US, how cool is that!   You know me, I hate paying for shipping.  I really like their their flat screen TV stands.  In fact once we get the floors done I promised DH he could buy one of those large flat screen LED TV's.  So now we need to choose a larger stand to put it on.  I've been looking, they have a huge selection and I've narrowed it down to one of these two.  I can't decide which one of these I want, they both are beautiful pieces of furniture and very well made.
Want to win that CSN $45.00 gift certificate?  Follow my blog and the link and leave me a comment telling me what you would buy.  There are some beautiful media cabinets that could double as craft room supply storage too.   BTW, the CSN gift certificate is good at any of their stores.  I will draw a winner on 3/25/2011,  I wish you all good luck, stop back and see if you won.  Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Jewel Colors Plus Gold

I made this card for the Gingersnap Creations jewel colors plus gold challenge.  This beautiful image Vintage Dress is a freebie from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, stop by her blog The Frugal Crafter to see what she has this week, and take a look at the rest of the team's blogs and their recent projects too!  I cased the idea to use tulle for the skirt from my DT sister Margie who made an awesome note card using black tulle.  For the bodice, I used Art Glitter Glue on the whole thing, placed the beautiful sapphire blue rhinestones from Pizzaz Aplenty down then filled in the background glue with some embossing glitter and heat set it.  The blue seed beads are on a string which made them much easier to glue into the swirl.  I used a piece of gold braid for the waist, pulling it through to the back side of the card.  The tag is Spellbinders Fancy Tags, and I used Tim Holtz weathered wood to darken the already distressed edges.  Stop by Lindsay's blog The Frugal Crafter Friday for a team wrap up.  Are you interested in winning a set of Pro Markers?  I don't have any myself, so I entered the give away that Lindsay is having on her blog.  Just stop by this post to enter yourself.
Also, visit her today to grab your freebie that she always so generously provides.

Waiting for Spring

I am so tired of the snow here in Michigan, this lovely stamp Daisy Floral from Scrolls Work Stamps will hopefully chase the snow away.  I used the Level Up technique from my Technique Junkies Newsletter, I really like the effect.  I used my Tim Holtz embossing folder, paper scraper tool and Frayed Burlap distressing ink.  The paper has some real pressed flowers in it.  I used a little Tattered Angels Wheatfields glimmer mist.  I colored the large pearls with my markers and the lovely Alexandria (Pale Yellow) lace is from Pizzazz Aplenty.

Happy UnBirthday

You don't want to know how many times I tried to get this right, lol, but I think I finally did.  At least it's what I saw in my head (we all know my head is not quite right though).  The fabulous vintage Rabbit is from Inka at Altered Artifacts.  I have been dying to use him.  The beautiful bg paper Pocket Watch is from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Steampunk Stamps set.  The King and Queen of Hearts are from Jolee's by You.  The pocket watch charm is from Blue Moon Madame Delphine's collection jewelery pieces.  The teapot ribbon was from JoAnns clearance bin, unmarked.  I used Tim Holtz distress inks in broken china blue, scattered straw and dusty concord.   I used leftover stencils from my Penny Duncan cd.  I also used a Versamark pen to carefully color in the Rabbit and then embossed with clear embossing powder.  The first time I went out of the lines a little and the bright green BG paper came through on just some of the edges.  I also used Tattered Angels Iridescent Gold and since the Rabbit had been embossed in clear, I could just wipe away any ink or mist that fell on him.  I also used a Spellbinders Fancy tag.
I made this to fall into 2 challenges at Gingersnap Creations.
The Chestnut Theme - Kings and Queens
and the Spicy Supply - Charms.

Fat little bunny's

I have an early start for Easter this year.  These cute little bunnys were a freebie from The Vintage Moth.  I used a lovely sketch from The Paper Players.   This looks really dimensional close up.  I cut the whole image once, then the bunnys and some of the flowers separately.  The tall bunny has a piece of foam pop up running the length of his body, I glued the edges only down so he looks like a puffy sticker.  I did not glue his ears down, I left them sticking out a bit.The white bunny has foam under his butt only, then I did the same gluing down the sides in that area only.  I left the head and front half of the body unglued which makes it look like he is hopping off the page.   The gorgeous ribbon with the pearls running through it are from Pizzaz Aplenty

Happy Birthday Meg

I made this card for my dear friend Meg who will be turning 39 again.    I used my favorite digital paper from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Uptown Houndstooth, I will never tire of this classic design.   The classic image is a freebie I found a long time ago from Art Freebies.  I used the sketch from Card Positioning Systems as my inspiration, I hope it's OK I added the sentiment.
I'm not sure if you can see it, I have a border of black diamond Stickles running outside the houndstooth paper.  I never would have bought black Stickles  alone, it was part of an 8 piece set I bought before Christmas.  But now that I have it I love it.  I always do this, I photograph my card and then I see something is missing, of course it only shows up in the photo, never while it's on my desk, never before it's all glued down.  I realised I needed another layer, like I should have mounted a sheet of black cardstock underneath.  It's all glued down but I can add a line of black Stickles!  Many a card has been rescued from mediocrity with my black (magic
) diamond Stickles.

Stop by Lindsay's blog The Frugal Crafter on Friday for a wrap up of  this and all the design team's work.

Pretty Poppie

For today's DT card I used the Poppy from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Fancy Flowers along with the Sweet Stitches Paper.  I used a technique from Technique Junkies newsletter called Level Up to add some dimension.  I also use some red Stickles to add some interest.  The lovely 5/8 red satin ribbon is from Pizzaz Aplenty.  I also used Spellbinders Labels 8 and Cuttlebug Mandarin Screen embossing folder.
Be sure to stop by Lindsay's blog The Frugal Crafter to see what she has made and to get the Thursday freebie.  Don't forget to check out the rest of the amazing design team, they really never cease to amaze me.

Happy Valentines Day

I hope you all are enjoying Valentines Day, I made my family special treats yesterday to celebrate.  I love this image of Deb and Rick from Scrolls Work stamps, it is so romantic.  So is the Irresistible Love sentiment stamp.  Stop by the Scrolls Work store and check out the New Full sheet stamp sets available at a 25% off discount.
I used a technique from Technique Junkies called layer up, it does not show that well in the photograph, but I raised up some pieces to give it more dimension. The background dp is Bold Black and White from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, the die cut is from Penny Duncan, cut on my Cricut with the SCAL software and decorated with pale pink flat back pearls.  I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist on the heart doily.

Sweet Valentine

I made this card for the CR84FN Challenge and for my card club card swap.  I loved working with these colors, it really inspired me to make this card.  I used a lot of Stampin Up products here.  The bird punch, The embossing folder and the butterflies are all Stampin Up.  The border and heart are Bird's blog SVG  free cut files I cut on my SCAL .  This is a 4.25 x 5.50 card not my usual 5 x 7 card.  I also used Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick and beautiful clear rhinestones.  I used a tip from my friend Enfys was to color my clear rhinestones with my alcohol ink marker.

A Little Lovin

I made this sweet Valentine with Lindsay's Stamp Stuff A Little Lovin set, which I love because it was pre colored for me.  The SVG cut file is included in the set along with JPG, PNG, and EPS files.  I used the Shabby Houndstooth paper and the free Christmas label set.  I played with the labels in word and changed the color and the effect for the blue.  I followed the sketch at A Gem of a Challenge I really like this layout.  Please stop by Lindsay's creative blog The Frugal Crafter to see what inspiration Lindsay has made for us.  Stop by the rest of the design team blogs for more inspiration too.

Queen Ellaire

I made this card with Scrolls Work #4077 Queen Ellaire for the Gothic Arches challenge calling for the use of a Queen.  The card measures 4.5 x 6.25, the Gothic Arch was a free image from Just Something I Made, it is called JSIM Crest Monogram Frames 8.  I love the stained glass look it has.   It is hard to see in the photo's but there are 3 tiny 2mm cranberry rhinestones in her crown and on her dress.  I also put a few 2 &3mm jewels in her treasure box.  The rhinestones were some of the free items Judy of Pizzazz Aplenty sent with my order.  I must admit, I never would have bought stones that tiny, but now that I've used them like this I know I will want more!  The glittered flourish was cut on my Cricut with the SCAL software from Penny Duncan's SVG Cut file collection.  The treasure box is a jewelery finding from Blue Moon Madame Delphine's collection jewelery pieces.  And I almost forgot, I used gold Stickles for the crown and scepter.
