Sweet Snowman

Christmas Lantern

 

This Christmas lantern was way too much fun to make and really easy too!   In the center is a battery operated tealight which looks really cool at night.  I used 4 fabulous stamps from Scrolls Work Rubber stamps to make this gem.  I used #8047 Noel Blocks, #8037 Christmas Kats,  #8024 Snow Kisses, and #8022 Christmas Tree.  I stamped them on vellum with Stazon ink and colored them in with markers and used some Stickles.  The holly leaves are made with Cricut Joys of the Season and I used Spellbinders Labels 2 Nestabilities to make the windows.  The shiny green cs is a heavy foil which I embossed with Stampin Up Texture Plates Kit 4 Weave.  Pop over to the Scrolls Work blog to see what the rest of the design team has made.

Quick and Easy Christmas card

So this week Lindsay asked us to make a quick and easy card, something you could mass produce or make in 10 minutes.  Of course this 10 minute card only took me 1 1/2 hours to make which compared to my usual 2-3 days is a pretty good in my book lol.  I am sure now that I know how to do it I could make it a lot quicker, not 10 minutes though, it takes me that long to trim and fold my card.  But this was easy once I had my idea all nailed down, the Snow Lady required no coloring, I just pulled it all up in Word and printed it out, you could do it all on 1 page of 8/5 x 11.  So to make this quickie card I used the Snow lady from Winterland, the Uptown Houndstooth  paper was printed in 2 different sizes and the Happy Holidays is from the Vintage Christmas Labels set.  I used a Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder and  Spellbinders Classic Circles Nestabilities.  Be sure to stop by Lindsay's blog The Frugal Crafter she always has some awesome ideas to share and a freebie too.  Speaking of awesome ideas, check out the rest of the design team, they are all so talented and much quicker than me too.  Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Lady Flourish Silhouette

I wish you could see this IRL, it has a lot of sparkle and dimension that I could not get the photo to pick up.  The gorgeous image is Scrolls Work image # 2557 Lady Flourish Silhouette #1.  I stamped her with Adirondack snow cap white and heat embossed with opaque silver powder onto Night of Navy cs.  I used the Spellbinders Impressabilities Snowflake to dry emboss the silver foil cs and added rhinestones to the centers of the snowflakes.  I trimmed the image in Stickles silver, blue and black.  The ribbon was a wide one that I trimmed down to this size.  The layout is from a sketch at Waltzingmouse Stamps that I found on Allison's Stampin When I Can blog.  Be sure to stop by the Scrolls Work blog to see what the rest of the Design Team and our Guest Designer have made.

Global Holly Shaker card

 I've been working on this card for over a week now, trying to get it to look like the vision in my head.  The minute I saw this gorgeous Scrolls Work image of Holly I knew I wanted to make her into a shaker card snow globe. That took quite a bit of engineering, I'm so glad I persisted.  The finished size of the card is 5 x 7.  I stamped her in black Stazon ink on to the gold card stock and the clear acetate.   I colored her in on the back side of the clear image so it did not cover up all of the detailed shaded lines in this stamp.  Then I added a circle of doubled up foam mounting tape to the back of the acetate image then added the snow and the front of the acetate card.  I trimmed and mounted the gold cs on top of that.  That's when I decided to color in her skin, so I stamped her again on to white cs and cut out her arms and face.  I had already closed up the globe so I added these pieces to the back of the clear card which really gives her a neat dimensional look.  Then I added some light blue cs to look like the sky and a darker blue to match her dress and frame the card.  So the layers are gold, clear, foam tape, snow, clear, arms and face,clear, light blue and dark blue.   The Christmas bulbs were made with a punch, 1large whole circle of foiled cs, and the glittered adhesive cs was made by aiming the punch to only cut a sliver of circle at a time which gives it the nice curves.  I also cut the circle in the gold cs with my Nestie.  I hope you stop by Scrolls Work to see all of their gorgeous unmounted rubber stamps.

Ooh La La Bachelorette Party

Isn't this just the cutest idea for a Bachelor or Bachelorette party?   Lindsay has so many cute party sets now.  These swim suits would make adorable invites and the  corset could be used as a thank you card or a table decoration.  The swim suits would be perfect for a pool party also.  These were so easy to make with Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Ooh La La Card and Crown SVG Template and my Cricut, it cut this quickly and it only took a minute to emboss the corset and add the trim and the necklace.  The blue swim suit paper is a freebie from Lindsay's blog The Frugal Crafter, stop by to see what freebie she has for you this week.  You can make this as naughty or nice as you want.  The set also includes a crown.  Wouldn't you love to see your friends faces when they get this invite in the mail?  Be sure to stop by the LSS Design Team blogs to see what awesome inspiration they have for you too.

Isn't she a doll?

 This card was so much fun to make!  This sweet new Scrolls Work image Rachel reminds me of one of my childhood dolls.  I found myself dressing her up, just like I dressed my dolls.  I guess that's why she just had to have the fur trim on her hat and coat.  She has so much detail I barely had to color much, she already had the beautiful shading.  I stamped her with Memento Rich Cocoa also available at Scrolls Work and colored her in with a red Bic marker.  The beautiful Gothic Arched banner was a freebie from Altered Artifacts.  The paper is Websters Home for the Holidays printable.  I chopped up a feather to get the fur effect and I cut the leaves out of a duplicate sheet to give it a more dimensional look.  Rachel has some dimensionals under her to make her stand out, as if she doesn't do that all on her own.  I hope you like her, because I think she needs to be seen in her navy blue coat also, lol.

 I almost forgot, this is what the whole set looks like.

"By Invitation Only" Card Contest!

Sympathy card

I love this image from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Many Blessings set and this card was so easy to make!  I printed it twice on white and once on that gorgeous shiny gold cs.  I cut one leaf from the white and the cross from the the gold, and left the other white to cut with Spellbinders Labels 8 Nestabilities.  I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Deep Plum and Turquoise Blue.  I sprayed both on my tissue paper then I blotted the card onto the wet tissue.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink Dusty Concord and a Sizzix Texture Plate.  The leaf punch is Stampin Up and I crocheted my flower.  Pop over to Lindsay's blog The Frugal Crafter to see what she has made and to pick up one of her free images.  Stop by the LSS MyGraphico store to grab some last minute Halloween images and definitely visit my DT sisters blogs to see all of the awesome ideas they have to share.  Did I tell you those ladies are super talented?  See for yourself.

I made this card for the Crafty Secrets Encouragement challenge over at SplitcoastStampers.  We are to keep the theme of Breast Cancer Awareness in mind also.  I used the Crafty Secrets Cotton Scraps (RAK from my friend Jan).  The shoe background was printed from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff It's a Girl Thing and the sweet crown is EK Success.  I also used some  Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Pink Taffy and Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tea Dye.   I hope you all have a great weekend and don't forget to schedule your mamogram, this is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Thanks for looking. ~Diane

Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Spooktacular Sale

Sorry for the late post, my printer was not cooperating with me.  This was such a quick and easy card to make.   A follower had asked me how I made the moon in the tree line on an older card so I decided to do it again on this card.  I merely printed my image on white cs, held a circular piece in the tree line and then used Stampin Up Night of Navy chalk, making circular motions with my chalk applicator, covering everything except the space beneath the circle.  This awesome scene is from the Creepy Crow Set from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  I added the ghost, skull and spider along with the fun lace ribbon from JoAnns.  I used some Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress Ink Weathered Wood around the outside of the print.

Trick or Treat

I just had to show the inside and outside of this card, it measures 4" x 9" and has a pocket inside where you can tuck in a Hershey Bar or a Halloween treat certificate.  The adorable Treaters are from Scrolls Work  Halloween collection, along with the Large Corner Web and Trick or Treat sentiment.  I used Stazon ink, Spellbinders Grand 12" Classic Lace Border, Shapeabilities Fancy Tags on the inside and  Labels 8 Nestabilities on the front.  I embossed with Cuttlebug D'vine Swirls embossing folder.  The card stock is DCWV , Stampin Up and vellum.  I used a little Crystal Effects on the spider and lots of dimensional foam all throughout, I love that stuff!  Stop by the Scrolls Work blog and see the awesome work my DT sisters have to share with you too.  Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Awesome News to share!

 I am so excited and honored to be chosen for the Scrolls Work Design Team!  Scrolls Work is a new business with tried and true, quality unmounted rubber stamps.  These are beautifully detailed stamps that I am sure you will love as much as I do!  In addition to the unique rubber stamps Scrolls Work will now carry all 24 Memento inks and re inkers!  I made this 5 x 7 card with Scrolls Work Rubber Stamp  #7509 Monique, I think she is so beautiful!  The bg paper is Websters from a digital file I purchased.  I printed it out twice and paper pieced the flowers with some foam dimensionals. 

I used Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress Ink Weathered Wood, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Wheatfields and Bazzill black card stock.  I covered Monique with Diamond Glaze and accented with a silver gel pen, then added the doily and a pearl strand.
