Quick and easy gift card tins.

I made these a while back, they were featured in the Ready, Set Create August issue so I can post them now.  I used the Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Steampunk Style stamp set along with a couple of her freebies to make these.  They were so easy to make, I just printed them out, traced the top of the gift card tin and cut them out.  I added some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Turquoise Blue, Deep Plum and Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tea Dye and I even embossed one with Stampin Up Texture Plates Kit 4 Distressed.  I glued the card stock to the tins with Art Glitter Glue Dries Clear and voila, I was done.
You are invited to stop by Lindsay's blog The Frugal Crafter to see what she has to share today and to pick up your free image.  My DT Sisters have some awesome inspiration  to share also.  They never stop amazing me!  Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Spooky Halloween Lantern

I had so much fun making this lantern, I had to show you all 4 sides!  I changed it around enough times, lol.  I would just look at it and  decide it would look so much better if......  revisions, there were a lot of those.  But I am really glad with the final outcome.  I used 4 Scrolls Work Rubber Stamps, House, Treaters, Haunted Moon  and Large Corner Web.  I stamped them with Stazon onto orange vellum.  The box was cut from gold foil card stock, I embossed it with Stampin Up Texture Plates Kit 4 Distressed.  I cut the fancy ovals with Spellbinders Labels 10 Nestabilities, I cut them twice, once to make the window, and then I cut them again with 2 dies to make a frame to stick outside the window.   I was loving how this was working out so instead of the lace top I had planned I ran up to JoAnns and found this awesome sheer ribbon that had some eyelash yarn and a mini garland tied onto it.  It didn't look like I thought it would, so off to my stash for the final revision, I found these awesome black purse beads to dangle off the top.  Not only did they give it the exact look I was going for, they were attached to a strip of seam binding that I glued to the inside of the lantern to give it a more finished look.  I photographed it with the tiny battery operated votive candle inside, looks really cool in the dark.  Dimensions are 3" wide (per single side panel) x 5 1/2 inches tall.  I have seen this done with a small ticket punch, I can't remember where.
Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Thank you Enfys and Scrappy Go Lucky for the Sure Cuts A Lot

I want to say a huge thank you to  Enfys and her sponsor Scrappy Go Lucky for the awesome Sure Cut's a Lot software prize I won.   If you own a Cricut, you need to stop by Scrappy Go Lucky, they have awesome tools like the Cri-Kits gel pens to get the most out of your Cricut along with tons of helpful information.   Stop by the Scrappy Go Lucky blog to see all the beautiful design team creations there too.
Enfys writes an awesome blog called Going Buggy, you have to stop by and make her a favorite, if she isn't already.  Her cards and projects are beautiful and her writing is always witty and colorful.  I always tease her she should be writing a book of short stories about all the interesting people she meets.  Her blog is always a pleasure, filled with the most beautiful cards, useful information and tips, but what I love most I think are her stories.  The people she writes about really are quite average, but it is the way she sees them or the situation that is fabulously entertaining!  Enfys truly has a gift for writing along with her crafting talent which is quite exceptional.  It is quite fitting that today's post is titled Friends Forever,  thank you Enfys for the most generous gift and for sharing your talent with all of us in blogland.   I hope all of my friends choose to become your Friends Forever too.  Thank you again for the fabulous prize!  I can't wait to start creating with it!   Sincerely, ~Diane

Have you ever been Ghosted?

I am getting ready to "Ghost" some of my neighbors; put a bag of treats together with a photocopy of a ghost and a note telling them to make a copy, put the ghost in their window, and "ghost" someone who hasn't been ghosted yet.  These clear acetate cards will go well, no one will know who they are from because I sneak up, ring the doorbell and run!   I made these with the Creepy Crow set from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  I printed one of them onto a sheet of orange vellum the other onto a sheet of white card stock.  I cut around  everything, leaving the crow, moon and tree intact.  I added googly eyes, a little white opaque ink to one crow,  and some Tim Holtz Distress Ink scattered straw to the one with the white moon.  I glued the cut outs to the acetate cards which are 5 x 7.
Be sure to stop by Lindsay's blog today, she always has a special Thursday freebie for you.  Stop by the Lindsay's Stamp Stuff store to take advantage of the 30% off sale too.  I hope you stop by my DT sisters blogs to see what awesome inspiration they have to share with you also.  Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Clearly Scary Recipe!

I really enjoyed making this card, I love to play with vellum and acetate.  I wish you could see this up close, I cut 2 circles of magnifying plastic, doubled them up and put them in the witches crystal ball.  This was so easy to make, I made a 5 x 7 card out of acetate, I printed Lindsay's Stamp Stuff  Witches Brew from the Vintage Halloween Labels  set onto the orange vellum and cut the circle out of the ball.  I ran my lace through the Zyron to make it stick, added blue pearls and a witchy bouquet of roses and feathers.  And I just had to add that pretty little blue jewel.
Be sure to stop by Lindsay's blog The Frugal Crafter to pick up your free stamp today and see what other crafty goodness she has to share.  My DT sisters always amaze me with their awesome talent, be sure to stop by and see for yourself.

With a cherry on top.

I had a wonderful weekend with a surprise visit from my daughter.  She needed more thank you cards to take back to Kentucky so Mom happily obliged.  This card was so easy, I used this weeks sketch (thank you Scrappy) from KWED along with the Cherry stamp.  (Ask, it's not in the store yet.)  The paper is Graphic 45 - Bees Knees, one of my favorites.  I colored the cherries with Prismacolor pencils, used Spellbinders Labels 8 Nestabilities,  Deckled Mega Rectangles Nestabilities,  Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tea Dye and  Antique Linen.  The sentiment stamp is Stampin up Warmest Regards.   I used dimensional foam to lift it all up.  Be sure to stop by Kristen's blog to pick up your free stamp and to see all the awesome cards my DT sisters made.

Chocolate cake and the color pink.

These are my 2 favorites, cold chocolate and the color pink.   I made this Birthday card using the Wedding Cake image from Kahwinkedink.  The fab dp is Hambly Screen Prints  Sweet Cupcakes it's 2 pages, the clear overlay has the white frosting print and the pink layer underneath is printed in a darker pink, this was a RAK from my sweet friend Kristen.  I cut the image out then paper pieced the frosting on top with foam dots for dimension, I also colored the white frosting with a Souffle pen.  The sentiment is Stampin up Warmest Regards, the dark cs is The Paper Company Pomegranate, the crocheted flower is Maya Rd Shimmer Blossoms and I used Spellbinders Deckled Mega Rectangles Nestabilities.  Be sure to stop by Kahwinkedink today to see what my fabulous design team sisters have made and to pick up your free digi image.

For Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Thursday I used the new Vintage Halloween Labels set.  There are 7 labels in this set and it's on sale today for $2.70.    Many of these labels work well with Nesties too.  I went all out on the distressing of this card.  I used my favorite Stampin Up Texture Plate Kit 4 Distressed, with my Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tea Dye and Scattered Straw.  I also used Tim Holtz distressing tool on the edges.   Spellbinders Classic Circles Nestabilities, gold wire ric rac, Spica Atyou gold ink and a ton of dimensionals to lift everything up.   One of the nicest features of digital images is that you can size them as you like, I like how the flourish works well as a background on this card.   Please check out the talented LSS Design Team for more fantastic ideas using stamps from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff!  Be sure to stop by Lindsay's blog today to pick up your free stamp and don't forget about the sale, 40% off everything in her store 1 day only!

A Very Creepy Crow.

Here's hoping for cooler weather, maybe thoughts of Fall and Halloween might cool us down.  I was truly giddy putting this card together, one of those day's where everything goes right.  Please don't tell Murphy.  The image is Creepy Crow from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  I love the vintage feel of it and if you notice all the crows don't look creepy which makes this a very versatile set.  I also used the sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You.  So what made me so giddy?  I printed the crow on a sheet of Legacy Collage - Faces of Friends dp which had random faces, script and lavender flowers on it.  I was hoping when I printed this, one of the 4 images I printed would land in a good spot.  Actually 3 of them did but this was my favorite.  What else went right? The background dp is a picture of a rug from Overstock.com.  When I saw it I had this crazy idea I could make it into dp, and I did!  I also used Stampin Up Texture Plates Kit 4 - Squares, Jolee's Boutique Stickers,Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tea Dye and some lavender 1/2 back pearls.  Be sure to stop by The Frugal Crafter,  today to pick up your free stamp, Lindsay always has something awesome for you.

Hands of Time

This weeks challenge at Kahwinkedink is Going Digital, use your favorite digital stamp.  Stitchy Bear Stamps is the sponsor, they have generously allowed the DT to have our pick of stamps from the store.  I chose Hands of Time from the Stitchy Stamps Collection to make this vintage pocket watch that opens up to see the clock face.   Stitchy Bear Stamps is a wonderful community of digital artists, collaborating together to sell from 1 store.  I had a difficult time choosing only 1 stamp to work with!
Along with the  Hands of Time stamp I used this gorgeous designer paper from Hollanders of Ann Arbor.  The vellum overlay was stamped with Baroque Motifs from Stampin Up in Brilliance gold ink.  The border is made of ribbon from JoAnns and I used Spellbinders Shapeabilities Fancy Tags for my sentiment.
Thanks for looking.  ~Diane
