Birds and Branches

I love this gorgeous  Birds and Branches  digital stamp set from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, it was so easy to color in and just look at all the stamps that come in this set!  Then I used this fabulous sketch at   2 Sketches 4 You to put it together.  I'm not sure if you can see in the photo, but I cut the flowers and eggs twice, used a little TSC Designs  Puffy 3-D Glue behind them to give  some dimension.  I used my Spellbinders Deckled Mega Rectangles Nestabilities, Stampin Up Texture Plates Kit 4 Distressed, Texturz Plate Backgrounds #1 Eyelet, and Forever in Time lavender flower.  The dp is Kioshi, the other cs is unknown.  The card size is 5 x 7.    Please take a minute and stop by Lindsay's blog today to pick up your free stamp.  Be sure to check out the LSS Design Team for more fantastic ideas using stamps from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff!

Slice of Summer

I made this 5 x 7  sweet summery card with one of my favorites,  Kahwinkedink's Slice of Summer digi stamp.  For those for you who have not stopped by the store, this image is only $1.00.  You can't go wrong with that, even if you only make 1 card with it!  Along with the Slice of Summer digi I used Stampin Up Green Galore and Pixie Pink cs to paper piece this together.   I also used Stampin Up Crystal Effects on the seeds and Texture Plates Kit 4 Distressed and  Backgrounds #1 Eyelet.  Added some glitter and glued it onto a folded card I was done.  Be sure to stop by the Kahwinkedink challenge today to pick up your free image, see what my talented design sisters have made and join us in this weeks challenge.  Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Tea and Sympathy

I love this Teariffic stamp set from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff!  There are so many possibilities with this set, you can go from serious to silly.  I made the flower by clipping some lace into pieces sticking them on a glue dot with a button in the center.  I cut the outside edge of a doily, gathered and glued then added some  Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress Ink Antique Linen.  The Teariffic tea cup was printed twice, once on ivory cs (inside cup) and again on the DCWV.  Then I paper pieced them together.   The blue and green cs and is Stampin Up Big Shot Texturz Plate Perfect Details  pattern 1.  I also used  Spellbinders Jumbo Scalloped Border Petites and Ribbon Tags Trio Shapeabilities.
Here is what you will find in the Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Teariffic stamp set.

The Purrr-fect Dad.

My sweet Kitty is a digi image from Kahwinkedink store.  The Kahwinkedink blog challenge this week is to make a Fathers Day card, I hope you will join us.  Today Kristen is offering another free image (every Tuesday) so stop over and see what she has in store for you.   While you are there see what my DT sisters have made for this challenge too.  These talented gal's have a lot of wonderful ideas for Fathers Day cards.
A funny thing happened on the way to making this card.  This card must weigh 4 pounds by now.  It started out with just the lay out you see, but I did not have a place to put the sentiment, so I thought I would have the card open on the front panel, great idea huh?  I couldn't remove my original panels so I glued the folded pieces over the top.  Then the inside did not look right so I added 2 green panels, the sentiment was hidden, so OK lets add more panels to the inside, problem solved.  Now the card won't stay closed!  OK add some pennies behind  Kitty, 2 no, I needed 4 to balance it!  Dare I tell you when I placed the sentiment on the inside I placed it upside down?  I love this lay out, I will use it again, but next time I will start off with a plan!
I used Kahwinkedink's Kitty digi image, DCWV cs paper pieced, Spellbinders Deckled Mega Rectangles Nestabilities, and
Stampin Up Big Shot Texturz Plate Backgrounds #1 Large dots.
I'm submitting this card to the following challenges:

More Crafty Secrets Fun

I made this card for the Crafty Secrets Challenge I am co hosting on Paper Craft Planet.  It is a 2 week challenge, it runs through to June 26th, I would love for you to come join the fun there with us.  All you need for this challenge is a Crafty Secrets item and lace.   I did have a little help in making this card.  I used the sketch from Mojo Monday, the color palette from Play Date Cafe and the inspiration to fray my Crafty Secrets Cotton Scraps, from Mona at Cupcake's Creations.  Mona has a fun tutorial on her blog showing how to print on fabric, check it out.  The beautiful background stamp I used on the Kraft cs is a digital called School Papers from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff and the 40% off sale runs through midnight tonight.  It's on sale for just $2.39, can you believe that?  It's a steal!   Even if you don't do digitals this is a must have, you just print it on to any colored cs in Word.  I stamped the aqua cs with Stampin Up Elements of Style, I made the flower with crepe paper and Spellbinders Blossom 2, I trimmed my lace down a bit to fit and the metal charms had 4 ends which I used wire cutters to cut down to 2 to give it the visual effect I needed for the sketch.  I enjoyed making this, thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Spinner Card 1CardCreator

Spinner card in action.
I made this card with the Grad Cap, this weeks free digi image available at Lindsays Stamp Stuff.  I have made these spinner cards before in fact there is a tutorial on how to make them here too.  My son helped me make the video so I could show you just what it looks like in action.  Sorry, I need more practice with the camera, this was my first You Tube video.  These cards totally fascinate me, I have a close up of the card also.
Along with the LSS Grad Cap I used  DCWV, Cricut Plantin Schoolbook, Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Pendant Shapeabilities,  Stampin Up Big Shot Texturz Plate Backgrounds #1 Harlequin and Word Window punch.
If you are not too dizzy from watching this, spin over to Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, she has a 40% off sale going on Thursday through Saturday   Check out the School Rules, School Papers, Grad Cap (free) and Grad Paper (free also).

Land That I Love

For the Red White and Blue or Flag challenge at Kahwinkedink I  made a flag card using this cute  Land that I Love  Kahwinkedink digital stamp from the Primitive Collection. I love how easy it was to make this look vintage!  I used the Stampin Up Texture Plates Kit 4 Distressed and paper pieced the stars.  I also used Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress Ink Antique Linen.  My lace had the wrong shade of blue so I used a marker to tint it the right shade of blue.  Please stop by the Kahwinkedink blog and see what my DT sisters have made, you will be amazed!  While you are there you can pick up todays Tuesday Freebie.  We hope you will join our new KWED Fan Group over at Paper Craft Planet!  We have lot's of fun stuff going on over there!  Thanks for looking, ~Diane

Whew!  This card gave me so much trouble!  I spent the whole week working on it!  I made it for the Crafty Secrets Challenge at Paper Craft Planet which calls for the use of pink and aqua. Shouldn't be hard but it was.   I finally found some inspiration this morning with a cute card sketch from this weeks JUGS challenge.

I used the Crafty Secrets Love and Romance image, (RAK, thank you Jan)  Stampin Up Big Shot Texturz Plate Perfect Details  pattern 1and pattern 2, Cricut Pagoda flowers, Vintage Holiday Crafts for the printed forget me not  paper, Liquid Pearls white Opal, Stickles Gold, pearl strands, feathers and Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress Ink Antique Linen.  If you love Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage products we would love to have you join us on PCP, we have a group there and we do bi weekly challenges.  Thanks for looking, ~Diane

So Glad We're Friends

The challenge over at Split Coast Stampers Crafty Secrets is to use Kraft paper.  The colored image is Crafty Secrets Friendship and Flowers, a gift from my friend Jan.  Yours Truly is an image from The Graphics Fairy and the 2 beautiful printed sheets are from Elegant and Shabby Scrapbook and card papers.  This is an awesome vintage set from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff MyGraphico. They print 4 to an 8 1/2 x 11 page and the vintage aged edges were already there for me.  I love this set, I bought it before I joined the dt, I could see so many uses for it.   The Kraft paper is Stampin Up and the vintage texture is Stampin Up Texture Plates Kit 4 distressed.  The iron on flower is from JoAnns, the jelly postage stamp dollar store. That's it, thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Bless this nest

I made this card for the challenge at BBTB2, they are using the Bless this Nest font from the Sweethearts cartridge.  I don't have the Sweethearts cart so I used my  Cricut Plantin Schoolbook for the font.  I used the layout from Sweet Sketch Wednesday for this card also.  I can always count on the ladies there to come up with an inspiring lay out for me.  The darling image is from Birds and Branches, a digi set from  Lindsay's Stamp Stuff MyGraphico.  The card stock is DCWV, and I used the Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress Ink Dusty Concord and
Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress Ink Antique Linen.  The more I use these distress inks the more I love them!  I also used my Spellbinders Petite Ovals Nestabilities.   Be sure to stop by BBTB2, they are having their monthly blog hop with lots of inspiration and excitement!  As always, thanks for looking.  ~Diane

It's a Girl Thing!

This is my first official Thursday post with the amazing design team at Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  What a fun digital stamp set this is to work with!  I used It's a Girl Thing  from Lindsays Stamp Stuff MyGrafico to make this fun and a little bit outrageous card.  I know a few friends (and a daughter) that will love this.  I used Stampin Up card stock and dp and printed the image on to pink vellum from Paper and More,   I used my Spellbinders Labels 8 Nestabilities to cut the window and glued on my flat backed pearls - 4mm - white  that I bought from Quixiotic Paperie with the gift certificate I won from Terry at Tellens Place.  Thank you Terry!  I also used some feathers and I did emboss it with the Stampin Up large polka dots but it didn't show up enough so I placed the pearls inside the embossed dots.
I am entering this into the following challenges:
Digital Tuesday,  Challenge 61 Lets get trendy.
Practical Scrappers  Acrilic, transparencies and vellum (3 of my favorite things!)

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND BLOGHOP for OPERATION WRITE HOME

Winner of the Memorial Day Blog hop Candy is jackielwatson said...
where do I begin gorgeous card and the best tutorial I have seen so far. I will try this because it looks fun, messy and cool. Thanks for sharing your artwork and ideas.
Congratulations Jackie, please email me your address so I can get your prize out to you.  Thank you Jackie and everyone else who stopped by for the hop, hope to see you all again next year!
Memorial Day is a special day to honor and thank all the men and women serving and who have served to protect our freedom.  Thank you for your sacrifices and for the sacrifices your family's make every day.
If you are just starting here, go to the beginning of the hop  Operation Write Home.  That way you won't miss anything, there are lots of freebies and blog candy along the way.  Be sure to see what you can do to help also, Operation Write Home needs card donations all year long.
I made this card using some of my bubble dp, the sentiment is Just Rite,  frame Spellbinders Deckled Mega Rectangles Nestabilities and the cute sailor image is Seth can Swim, a digital stamp from Kahwinkedink.   I found the unusual lay out at Crazy 4 Challenges.
I thought it would be fun to share an old  tutorial post on how to make designer paper out of food coloring, sugar and bubbles.  This is lots of fun to share with the kids, preferably outdoors!
Bubble Card Stock Recipe
Plastic tablecloth or protective cover for your table, plates to catch the bubble drips, small bowls, water and 1 teaspoon of sugar per small bowl. 1 bottle of bubbles- I only used 1/4 of this small bottle for all 5 dishes. Straws, food coloring (I used Neon Bright's I found at $store)
Sorry my recipe did not give a measurement for anything but the sugar. I did approximately 1 part bubbles to 2 parts water (free pour) and I added more food coloring as needed.
Card stock, I cut 8 1/2 x 11 sheets in 1/2 to make them a little easier to manage. I also try different colors because you never know what combination will look best. Rubber gloves are a good idea and old clothes for the little ones.
Now let the fun begin! Mix your water, bubbles, sugar and food coloring with your straw and start blowing bubbles! This was so much fun, and the bubbles were such beautiful colors too! Put a plate or old pie tin underneath to catch the mess, I figured that out a little late.
Notice the difference in the 2 bowls of bubbles? You want your bubbles to look like the top picture BIG, not the little bubbles near the straw in the second picture. Small bubbles make a large dark spot on your card stock.
Hold your card stock over the top of the bowl and let the card stock smash or break your bubbles. Pick up the card stock and move it around to fresh bubbles and keep doing this till you fill the page with bubbles (you may have to blow more bubbles to finish the page).
This was messy ,1/2 way through I added a plate underneath.
Above the card stock drying out on the table,
below you can see it brightens up after it dry's for 24 hours.
I do hope you decide to give this a try, it will definitely release the inner child in you. So now that you have your very own designer bubble card stock what will you create with it?
TO ENTER for the blog candy just leave me a comment, if you want to follow me I would be honored, but it's not necessary to win.  I will post the winner on Thursday, please contact me by e mail, (you can find my email by clicking on MY PROFILE)  if I don't hear from you within 10 days I will pick another winner.  Thanks for looking, enjoy the hop! ~Diane
