Thinking of Spring

Hi All, it is cold here in Michigan today, 6 degrees, BRRR!  I am hoping these pretty Spring colors will welcome the warmer temperatures, or at the very least remind us that they are on the way.  I designed this card around the beautiful yellow ribbon with the pearls and yellow gingham cloth on the wood chip butterfly.  It was a gift from my dear friend Valerie, in fact when my husband saw it, he said "you aren't going to use that are you?  I think you should just keep it as it is just too pretty to use up".  And I thought I was the hoarder, ha ha!  Well, she sent me plenty and I only used a small portion.  The card is for my friend Meg to give to her sweet daughter Laura so it was a good occasion to use it.  But of course I had to fuss over the card to make sure it was worthy of the ribbon.  I am finally happy with the results.  The sweet image is from Gecko Galz, the papers are digital prints from Susan Godfrey, sadly she is not making papers any more.  And yes I did use my Perfect Layers Rulers to get the image cut square and to get the yellow trim on it straight this time lol.
Thanks for looking.  ~Diane
Whoo Hoo!  I just saw that I won a $25.00 Shopping Spree at Gecko Galz for my entry into LeeAnns Birthday bash challenge the Cats Meow!  I always have a wish list for what more I want there too.  Pop over to LeeAnns blog Fripperies and Butterflies, she has already started another challenge with some beautiful free Vintage Valentine images!  Thank you LeeAnne!

I am linking this card up to Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge "What are you known for."
I think most of you would say for my matching envelopes, I guess that is my trademark.

  10. This is such a pretty Spring feeling to see this lovely card... it is warm here in AZ, we had a cold snap in the 20s (cold for us) but now we are in the high 70s and 80s. Amazing. I am glad I don't live where it snows.
    Love your card...brightened my day.
    Hugs

  16. It is freezing and snowing here in NYC. I am ready for Spring too! Your card and matching envelope are gorgeous. Love the papers, sorry they aren't made anymore. The image you used is so pretty. I have the perfect layers, and must try them again as I had trouble when I first got them and maybe I need to practice more.

  24. What a SWEET image, Diane, and a simply ADORABLE birthday card -- LOVE it!!!
It was really cold (record-breaking) one week, then shot up to the 80's and now it rained for 4 days straight and is chilly. I'm ready for more warmth, and can recall how the winters there feel from my childhood days in the Midwest! ;-( Hope spring hurries!!!
