Thank you Lacee and the Bella's

First off I want to thank Lacee from Bella Creations.  Whoo hoo, I won the gorgeous mini kit Heavenly from the June blog hop.  It arrived last night and it is full of goodies that she put together.  I can't wait to dig into it!  Stop by to see her latest kit, it's awesome too!  Speaking of Bella's, I made this card for 3 different groups over at Bella Creations.  Voila Ink has challenged us to make a Fathers Day item, anything but a tag.  It must include some inking and as an optional twist, use masking somewhere on the project.  And the Oh la la group is accepting cards this month so it qualifies for that Bella challenge also!  I used Memento Brown ink to stamp the message "so thankful for you".  "For You" did not stamp out well so I used some inspiration from Pops work and stamped it again on some cardboard.  I like the added texture it gives.  I used a Tim Holtz mask with broken china blue ink also.  The image was provided by  Gecko Galz for the June challenge at Cartes Classiques, another group at Bella Creations The dp is a Graphics Fairy old french map.  I would love to see you join one of the many challenges over at the Bella Creations community, so many wonderful sponsors are there too.

29 ...Again?

I made this card for the Stampsmith Birthday card challenge  using one of their awesome rubber stamps from the Those Were the Days full sheet..  I love all the detail in these stamps!  The inside of the card reads 29...Again?  My dear friend Nancy will get a kick out of this one.  On a side note, I am sorry I am not around a lot, I am not making any cards either.  We are really into the thick of this home modernization and it is taking up a lot of my crafting time and energy.  I really can't wait till it is done but it does not look like that will be any time soon.

Traveler in time

This was so much fun to make!  I used Inka's Altered Artifacts new set Monkey Bizz and Steampunks to make this.  I also used some of her free images to keep it pure.  The fish was cut out of a piece of wrapping paper, I thought it added the right touch.  I don't know if you can see I used Stickles on the birds and on the fish.  I sprayed the background ledger paper with Tattered Angels Wheatfields and used Tim Holtz tea dye on the torn edges, I also let it curl up a bit.  The doilies were sprayed with TH butterscotch, and lettuce green along with the firebrick red dauber.  I also used some Stampin Up Crystal Effects on the clock faces and on the young man's eye glass. Stop by Inka's Altered Artifacts Etsy shop to see more fun images like this.

Think summer!

I made this with Lindsay's Summer Fun SVG and Printable set.   Be sure to stop by her blog The Frugal Crafter and see what she has to share, it's always something interesting.   This is a great set for kids party's!  My girlfriend said she saw the cutest card with 3 sandals on the front, they made her smile so could I make her a set of them.  Wait a minute, that was 3 pairs of sandals, sure no problem.  I fussed and fussed and I am still not 100% pleased, it needs something other than the button, hope I figure it out before we meet for lunch next week.  See that piece of twine, I am entering the Spicy Supply challenge at Gingersnap Creations
Sorry I have not been posting much these last couple of weeks.  We are re modeling and that seems to be taking up a lot of energy lately.  So many decisions to make, some days my mind is just spinning.  We probably should have done more throughout the years, because now it all needs to be done at once!  Exciting and scary at the same time, I am so worried I will mess it up!  I will try to get a few more cards done soon.
Thanks for looking.  ~Diane
I changed my card and the picture of it.  I took my friend Gerri's suggestion to widen up the twine and add a little more.  I think it looks much better now, thanks Gerri!

Thank you Stampsmith

I won a gift certificate to the Stampsmith Store in a random draw at The Stampsmith blog.  Talk about a tough time deciding!  All of their stamps are beautiful and detailed beyond belief!  Thank you Estelle and Lynn I just love these stamps!  Not only did she send me the stamps I ordered, she sent me 4 extras too!  Well, I guess you can you tell Marilyn is my favorite, I just couldn't wait to ink her up, I had to use her first!  She is so beautiful, I love how she is shaded so beautifully and you can actually see the tulle dress.  I did not do any coloring, I just rolled her with a brayer and stamped her out!  I just wish she had been a Mother, since that is the challenge at Stampsmith Challenge, but that's OK I have quite a few more that I will be able to use for the Mothers challenge.  Here is a teaser of the cool images I got from Stampsmith.
I love working with full sheets of stamps too, they are so easy to mount on to the cling cushion and with so little waste.  I buy my cling cushion at Stampers Best, there is a coupon in my sidebar, if you use it, you will get 10% off and I get a few pennies for referring you too.  It is excellent cushion and very reasonably priced too.
Thanks for looking, and thank you again Stampsmith.  ~Diane

Up, Up and Away

I am so honored, I was asked to be the May featured artist for Tuesday Tutorials on one of my favorite blogs, The Vintage Dragonfly.   JoAnne frequently offers free vintage images at her site, along with the most interesting Tuesday Tutorials.  Her own work is awesome too, I hope you will stop by.   I posted the directions on how to make a pop up card like this one here on her site today.  So as not to give it away I decided I would show you some older pop up cards I have done.  I guess you can see the different styles, and you can also see that they can be complicated or easy.  I hope you will stop by The Vintage Dragonfly to see how I made the latest one.

I won this awesome candy from Tellens Place!

So check out all this awesome goodness my friend Terry from Tellens Place sent me!  I won it in a little contest she had going on her blog, thank you Terry, you are so generous!  She has moved to a new blog and would love to pick up some of her old followers and some new ones too.  She has more blog candy being offered at this very moment, and sweet and generous soul that she is, she keeps adding to it!  I would really love it if you would stop by and say hi and hopefully follow her too, as she is a friend of mine.  By the way, this candy is gorgeous and I happen to know you can purchase your own from our mutual friend Judy at Pizzazz Aplenty,  I know shameless plug!

Bold Black and White Bonanza

Who knew when I wrote this post that those Birthday cards would be so appropriate!  Lindsay's Stamp Stuff is celebrating the 2nd year with a 40% off sale!   No better time to grab some of these versatile papers.  Congratulations Lindsay on #2.

Wow, I went crazy this weekend.  My son needed more Birthday cards and since this is his favorite layout I went crazy with my favorite paper.  These were all done with Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Bold Black and White Papers.  I made a few of the flowers, used Tim Holtz distress inks and went wild with my bling from Pizzazz  Aplenty.  What makes this bonanza even better is Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Easter Sale going on today and tomorrow.  Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

My Mojo likes Grunge

I made this tag for the challenge at Studio L3, Grungy Monday   called Texture Fades and Distress,  I followed the Tim Holtz video to emboss the ink right into my tag.  The image is Graphics 45 Once Upon a Springtime.  I used Stickles all over the flowers and leaves.  The pretty pearl brads are from Pizzazz Aplenty.  I used Ranger Distress Inks in my Tim Holtz Texture fades Patchwork embossing folder.   Then finished it off with Tattered Angels Glimmer mist in Coffee Bean and Wheatfields. This is my first tag and first grunge piece.  Grunge is hard for me, I am too much of a perfectionist.  It really bothers me if I glue something down slightly askew, so I really had to let go with this piece.  Easier said than done, I still wanted to control exactly how those inks landed, ha ha.  It was fun, I think my Mojo enjoyed being let go a bit.

We found an egg!

Forgive me, I used these cute bunnies again, free from the The Vintage Moth.   I just love to cut them out and add a little foam to give them some dimension.  Beautiful paper is Green at Heart by Basic Grey from a 6 x 6 pad.  My card is a 5 x 7, so I trimmed the paper and punched the edges and pieced it to the sides to fit.  So sad that I never got into doing that whole paper tole thing, I think I would have loved it, lol.  Pearls are Pizzazz A Plenty,  I used Spellbinders Labels 10 Nestabilities and roses are from I am Roses.

Blue n Bell

This was another fun project to make.  I used Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Bold Black and White printed on Coredinations blue cs.  The awesome Gothic Arch is a printable or SVG file from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff also.  The gorgeous articulated images Bluenbell are from Inka at Altered Artifacts.  She has a program that allows you to work with one of her new images for free if you sign up, check it out here.  I used Tim Holtz tape and the bg image was a freebie from Dover.  I have never worked with articulated figures before, I wasn't quite sure how to connect them so I put them together by using a short piece of string to connect the pieces so they stay moveable.
