Celebrate the Brave

I made this card for the challenge at Out of a Hat Creations, Stars and Stripes.  The paper is tissue paper from one of my birthday presents, the images are from Gecko Galz Red White and Blue collage set.  I used my Perfect Tears rulers (see my side bar for coupon code ) to tear the sheets of tissue and a little Tim Holtz Barn door red to trim it off.
As I celebrate the 4th of July and our Independence I remember that we could not be free without the brave men and women serving our country in the Military, my thanks to all of you, you are "the brave", we "celebrate".  That's it for today, hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Sweet Valentine

I made this card for the CR84FN Challenge and for my card club card swap.  I loved working with these colors, it really inspired me to make this card.  I used a lot of Stampin Up products here.  The bird punch, The embossing folder and the butterflies are all Stampin Up.  The border and heart are Bird's blog SVG  free cut files I cut on my SCAL .  This is a 4.25 x 5.50 card not my usual 5 x 7 card.  I also used Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick and beautiful clear rhinestones.  I used a tip from my friend Enfys was to color my clear rhinestones with my alcohol ink marker.

Clearly Scary Recipe!

I really enjoyed making this card, I love to play with vellum and acetate.  I wish you could see this up close, I cut 2 circles of magnifying plastic, doubled them up and put them in the witches crystal ball.  This was so easy to make, I made a 5 x 7 card out of acetate, I printed Lindsay's Stamp Stuff  Witches Brew from the Vintage Halloween Labels  set onto the orange vellum and cut the circle out of the ball.  I ran my lace through the Zyron to make it stick, added blue pearls and a witchy bouquet of roses and feathers.  And I just had to add that pretty little blue jewel.
Be sure to stop by Lindsay's blog The Frugal Crafter to pick up your free stamp today and see what other crafty goodness she has to share.  My DT sisters always amaze me with their awesome talent, be sure to stop by and see for yourself.

With a cherry on top.

I had a wonderful weekend with a surprise visit from my daughter.  She needed more thank you cards to take back to Kentucky so Mom happily obliged.  This card was so easy, I used this weeks sketch (thank you Scrappy) from KWED along with the Cherry stamp.  (Ask, it's not in the store yet.)  The paper is Graphic 45 - Bees Knees, one of my favorites.  I colored the cherries with Prismacolor pencils, used Spellbinders Labels 8 Nestabilities,  Deckled Mega Rectangles Nestabilities,  Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tea Dye and  Antique Linen.  The sentiment stamp is Stampin up Warmest Regards.   I used dimensional foam to lift it all up.  Be sure to stop by Kristen's blog to pick up your free stamp and to see all the awesome cards my DT sisters made.

Chocolate cake and the color pink.

These are my 2 favorites, cold chocolate and the color pink.   I made this Birthday card using the Wedding Cake image from Kahwinkedink.  The fab dp is Hambly Screen Prints  Sweet Cupcakes it's 2 pages, the clear overlay has the white frosting print and the pink layer underneath is printed in a darker pink, this was a RAK from my sweet friend Kristen.  I cut the image out then paper pieced the frosting on top with foam dots for dimension, I also colored the white frosting with a Souffle pen.  The sentiment is Stampin up Warmest Regards, the dark cs is The Paper Company Pomegranate, the crocheted flower is Maya Rd Shimmer Blossoms and I used Spellbinders Deckled Mega Rectangles Nestabilities.  Be sure to stop by Kahwinkedink today to see what my fabulous design team sisters have made and to pick up your free digi image.

Distressing Halloween

For Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Thursday I used the new Vintage Halloween Labels set.  There are 7 labels in this set and it's on sale today for $2.70.    Many of these labels work well with Nesties too.  I went all out on the distressing of this card.  I used my favorite Stampin Up Texture Plate Kit 4 Distressed, with my Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tea Dye and Scattered Straw.  I also used Tim Holtz distressing tool on the edges.   Spellbinders Classic Circles Nestabilities, gold wire ric rac, Spica Atyou gold ink and a ton of dimensionals to lift everything up.   One of the nicest features of digital images is that you can size them as you like, I like how the flourish works well as a background on this card.   Please check out the talented LSS Design Team for more fantastic ideas using stamps from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff!  Be sure to stop by Lindsay's blog today to pick up your free stamp and don't forget about the sale, 40% off everything in her store 1 day only!

A Very Creepy Crow.

Here's hoping for cooler weather, maybe thoughts of Fall and Halloween might cool us down.  I was truly giddy putting this card together, one of those day's where everything goes right.  Please don't tell Murphy.  The image is Creepy Crow from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  I love the vintage feel of it and if you notice all the crows don't look creepy which makes this a very versatile set.  I also used the sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You.  So what made me so giddy?  I printed the crow on a sheet of Legacy Collage - Faces of Friends dp which had random faces, script and lavender flowers on it.  I was hoping when I printed this, one of the 4 images I printed would land in a good spot.  Actually 3 of them did but this was my favorite.  What else went right? The background dp is a picture of a rug from Overstock.com.  When I saw it I had this crazy idea I could make it into dp, and I did!  I also used Stampin Up Texture Plates Kit 4 - Squares, Jolee's Boutique Stickers,Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tea Dye and some lavender 1/2 back pearls.  Be sure to stop by The Frugal Crafter,  today to pick up your free stamp, Lindsay always has something awesome for you.

Hands of Time

This weeks challenge at Kahwinkedink is Going Digital, use your favorite digital stamp.  Stitchy Bear Stamps is the sponsor, they have generously allowed the DT to have our pick of stamps from the store.  I chose Hands of Time from the Stitchy Stamps Collection to make this vintage pocket watch that opens up to see the clock face.   Stitchy Bear Stamps is a wonderful community of digital artists, collaborating together to sell from 1 store.  I had a difficult time choosing only 1 stamp to work with!
Along with the  Hands of Time stamp I used this gorgeous designer paper from Hollanders of Ann Arbor.  The vellum overlay was stamped with Baroque Motifs from Stampin Up in Brilliance gold ink.  The border is made of ribbon from JoAnns and I used Spellbinders Shapeabilities Fancy Tags for my sentiment.

Sew Sweet

This card will be published in the 9/26/10 issue of Scrapbook News and Review.

It's Thursday, time for another card featuring Lindsay's Stamp Stuff  images.  This is one of the first images I fell in love with, way before I joined the design team.  Sew Pretty has sew many fun images to work with.   I'm really happy with how this card came out.  Along with the Sew Pretty digital stamp I used this awesome dp Cosmo Cricket Material Girl and Tim Holtz Alterations texture fades Patchwork set both RAK from my friend Kristen.  The tomato dp is called Sweet Tomato Dots from Lasting Impressions, I bought it with this card in mind.  The teal and yellow cs and the  Eyelet embossing are Stampin Up.  The pins and needles are done in Stickles Silver and pearls they are not real.  I am flattered that so many of you think the "  real pins"   were a good idea, thanks but Lindsay gets credit for drawing them onto the image for me, I just cut, colored and added the stones.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tea Dye to distress it and Spellbinders Petite Ovals Nestabilities and Shapeabilities Fancy Tags.  I almost forgot, I used a lot of foam squares to lift it all up, even the buttons.

In the Garden

I used 3 shades of green to give the Relish our Friendship image this vintage look. The challenge this week at Kahwinkedink is in the garden or green. Kristen is offering a free digi image at Kahwinkedink and a different one at Crafter's Digital Art Center. My relish jar was printed once on white cs and then again on Tinkering Ink Haberdasher dp. That dp looked like pickle relish. The background dp was made from a copy of an old Ira Wilson & Sons Dairy cookbook from my old cook book collection. I used a little Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress Ink Antique Linen on the relish jar, the aged look on the dp is original. The flower is from Your Scrapbook Stash (my new favorite place to shop) from a previous win at Scrap it With a Song. (Thank you Christine) I almost forgot, my leaves are from the Stampin Up bird punch.

Vintage Thank You

This is the Grunge Gear image from the Steampunk Stamp Set at Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  This card measures 5 x 5 and I cut the card in the shape of a gear.  I think it would make a great card for a guy.  There are so many wonderful images to choose from in this set.  I must say it is one of my favorites!  I printed the image twice and folded it in the center so the gear image is 2 sided.  I used Color Throwdown for my color inspiration.  The center is made with Spellbinders Classic Ovals Nestabilities.  I used Stampin Up Texture Plates Kit 4 Distressed (again).  Be sure to stop in and see what Lindsay has to offer this week, she always offers a freebie on Thursdays and some awesome inspiration.   Please check out the talented LSS Design Team for more fantastic ideas using stamps from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, here are their links.

Crafty Secrets Recipe Card

2 Sketches 4 You Sketch
I made this card for 2 Crafty Secrets Challenges.  For the one I co host with Jan at Paper Craft Planet, I suggested we use Crafty Secrets Designer Paper or make our own from a Crafty Secrets stamp.  I did both, I used dp from the Crafty Secrets Classic pad and I also made the print on the left with the Crafty Secrets Cupcake Party stamp set.  The challenge at Splitcoast Stampers calls for a recipe card, this one is 4 x 6.  I have had this recipe in my recipe box for about 30 years, I add it to all my wedding cards.  Sadly I do not know the Author, I wish I could give them credit for the lovely recipe.  I used Stampin Up cs and Texture Plates Kit 4,  Distressed along with Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress Ink Antique Linen.
For my lay out I used the sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You.  I would love for you to join in any of these challenges as they are all a lot of fun. Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Happy Birthday Lindsay

Color Throwdown is celebrating 100 Challenges

This week we are celebrating Lindsay's Birthday and she is too with a 34% off sale at Lindsay's Stamp Stuff whoo hoo!.  Happy  Birthday Lindsay and thank you for designing this awesome Steampunk Style set!  I was like a kid in a candy store when I saw this with so many awesome images! You will be seeing a lot more of this set here.  I had so much fun making this card, the hardest part was deciding which image to use, I wanted it to be just right.  I printed the bike images and Birthday sentiment on to the Certainly Celery cs, then used my favorite Stampin Up Texture Plates Kit 4 Distressed.  The circles were cut with Spellbinders Classic Circles Nestabilities, and I used my new Martha Stewart edge punch.  I love the little flower button I sewed onto the bow, it was part of an old jewelery kit my (now 25 yr old) daughter and I had made into necklace's back in the day!  My inspiration came from this weeks beautiful colors from Color Throwdown (100th challenge party, awesome prizes!) and the Just Us Girls sketch.
Be sure to stop by Lindsay's blog today to wish her a Happy Birthday and pick up your free stampYou will also want to see what  the talented LSS Design Team has made using stamps from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, and remember the 34% off sale too!
