Believe Angel

Here is another stunning Angel from Dezinaworlds.  Christmas Angels.   I used more of Websters Vellum 11 Digital paper, the vintage looks go together so well.  Another fabulous border frame called Fancy Borders is a SVG from Mujka  Chic at MyGraphico.  I had to trim the tops off the fancy Fleur de Lis so you could still see the word Believe.  I did more of the fussy cutting, I cut the wings and added some Diamond Stickles and some foam to lift them up.  Not sure if you can see it, but I also cut all the fur trim including her pocket, sleeve and bottom of the coat and hat to give it more dimension.  It really does not show that much in the pictures though.  I used some of the scraps from the frame to make the fancy envelope liner, that I punched with a Martha Stewart punch.  My girlfriend wants me to make her some Vintage Angels for her Christmas cards this year so this set is perfect for me!   Hope you are getting some of the warmer weather we are getting here in Michigan.  High of 62 today, whoo hoo!  Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Christmas Angel 1

I made this sweet little angel card with Christmas Angels, a printable  collage sheet I bought from my friend June at Dezinaworld.  I just love her vintage collage sheets.  Stop by her Dezinaworld blog and see what her amazing design team does with these images!   I  cut her and mounted her with some foam tape so she has a bit of a 3D look.  I also fussy cut a few of the roses and brought them forward out of the border.  Speaking of borders, the fabulous border frame called Fancy Borders is a SVG from Mujka  Chic at MyGraphico.  I can't get enough of these!  The floral DP is Websters Vellum 11 digital paper another one of my favorites.  I am really pleased with how this came out, I guess a little surprised too, I had no vision for where I was going, it just seemed to all come together for me. Well, thanks for looking, I really appreciate your comments.  ~Diane

Bunta in Blue

New stamp, new paper, new technique, whoo hoo!  I love this Asian stamp called Bunta by Scrolls Work, she inked up so well.  Don't forget the Scrolls Work 35% off sale ends tomorrow the 9th.  I used black embossing powder to give her more depth.  I used a paper piecing technique from Technique Junkies layering her up.  The beautiful paper is Websters Pages Vellum Designs 2 Digi Collection.  I printed the paper twice, once 7 x 7  on to a 5 x 7 formatted sheet size the other 8 x 8.  I stamped her on the 8 x 8 sheet and cut her out and pieced her on to the other page, that way the wheel spokes would look like the bg paper (my card size is 5 x 7).  I stamped her again to get her beautiful Kimono, cut and pasted that and took the hands from the one underneath and pasted them on top.  I took the words live your dreams from the 8 x 8 with a Spellbinders Labels 10.   I used Tim Holtz Weathered Wood distress ink which is a bluish black color.  I made the flowers with my Cricut.  That's it for today, I hope you liked it.  Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Isn't she a doll?

This card was so much fun to make!  This sweet new Scrolls Work image Rachel reminds me of one of my childhood dolls.  I found myself dressing her up, just like I dressed my dolls.  I guess that's why she just had to have the fur trim on her hat and coat.  She has so much detail I barely had to color much, she already had the beautiful shading.  I stamped her with Memento Rich Cocoa also available at Scrolls Work and colored her in with a red Bic marker.  The beautiful Gothic Arched banner was a freebie from Altered Artifacts.  The paper is Websters Home for the Holidays printable.  I chopped up a feather to get the fur effect and I cut the leaves out of a duplicate sheet to give it a more dimensional look.  Rachel has some dimensionals under her to make her stand out, as if she doesn't do that all on her own.  I hope you like her, because I think she needs to be seen in her navy blue coat also, lol.

Awesome News to share!

I am so excited and honored to be chosen for the Scrolls Work Design Team!  Scrolls Work is a new business with tried and true, quality unmounted rubber stamps.  These are beautifully detailed stamps that I am sure you will love as much as I do!  In addition to the unique rubber stamps Scrolls Work will now carry all 24 Memento inks and re inkers!  I made this 5 x 7 card with Scrolls Work Rubber Stamp  #7509 Monique, I think she is so beautiful!  The bg paper is Websters from a digital file I purchased.  I printed it out twice and paper pieced the flowers with some foam dimensionals.
I used Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress Ink Weathered Wood, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Wheatfields and Bazzill black card stock.  I covered Monique with Diamond Glaze and accented with a silver gel pen, then added the doily and a pearl strand.
I would love to introduce you to the rest of the design team, these are extremely talented ladies who will definitely wow you with their work.

I’ve chosen to do a tutorial on pop-up cards since I get a lot of positive feedback on them. I’ll give you some easy step-by-step instructions.

You can follow the link to see my pop up tutorial on the front page there under Featured Artist!  They also chose another one of my cards for the 9/26/10 publication.  I wrote a tutorial on Pop Up cards with a new card I made just for the article.   I am so excited and honored to be chosen, I hope you have a chance to take a look.  Scrapbook News and Review has both a Ning community site and the magazine site.  Check out their submission card calls, the magazine is awesome.
