UGlue is great for Ranger applicator tool

I previously kept my Tim Holtz sponges stacked sideways in the plastic clam-shell they came in, I wrote the name of the color on the side of each sponge.  Every time I wanted to use a new color I would rip the previous color off the Velcro and replace it with the colored pad I needed.  I do realize Tim Holtz says you can use the same 1 pad for every color, but how many of us do that?  When my applicator was brand new I had a problem with the Velcro ripping off every time I removed a pad, the TH site suggested stapling the Velcro to the wood, I could not get a staple to go that far in so I just learned to struggle with it and hold the Velcro while I pulled the pad with the other hand.   Then I found a web site that suggested using this U Glue to hold the Velcro on tight, I bought some and they were right, it worked like a charm.  Now I could take them off and put them back on without struggling with the Velcro, but I always dreamed of having a separate applicator tool for every color, but way too expensive!   A dear friend shared with me some stamps that she was not using, she had not even mounted them on to the wood blocks so that sparked some ideas.  The Stampin Up wood blocks all have that comfortable indentation on the sides that make them so easy to grip and stamp with.  That grip makes them an excellent choice for a blending tool also!  Not only that, but they come with their own handy storage case too!  I just added a piece of U Glue to the block and cut my used sponges in half to fit the wood blocks!  I used my label-er to print the names of the colors on the other side of the block and put them back into their clear case for storage.  How cool is that!  I wish I would have kept the wood blocks when I took my Stampin Up stamps off of the wood to save storage space, but my friends cast off gave me a second chance!  If you don't have any spare Stampin Up blocks I am sure you could make something similar with a Jenga wood block game, they sometimes sell knock offs at the Dollar Treasure stores.  The real secret is the U Glue , whether you are repairing the Velcro on your Tim Holtz tool or making a new set, the U Glue does an excellent job of holding it down.  I bought mine at a local hardware store for 9.99 for the box of 100 and I am almost out, I have found plenty of other uses for them too.  My Tim Holtz blender tool will not go to waste either, it will now be used for Alcohol Inks only.  I hope this helped some of you.

Love birds

Not your traditional Valentine with hearts I know.  I made this with a freebie from Cheri Wenger  (Don't forget she still has a sale going on).   MyGraphico has been offering some wonderful free images weekly from some very talented artists in the Brag Party Group.  The beautiful bird was the free image this week, it is 1 piece from the Lovey Dovey set.  I combined it with Cheri Wenger's SVG Framing Shapz 1, which I love.  True sign of a great SVG is when you can cut it into this small of a size and it still works, this set really does cut like butter.  The beautiful bubble pearls are from Pizzazz Aplenty.  , the colors were perfect for this card.  The papers are Tim Holtz glassine and Crafty Secrets.  I don't know why I save these beautiful papers, it's like I'm afraid to use them, lol.  Still figuring out my Big Shot Pro, I embossed the glassine and the and the Shapz with it.  I also used some Tim Holtz distress inks on this.  Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

End of Summer Sale

Love this card, so easy to make, had to share it with you today.  I used the SVG set Fancy Borders by Mujka Chic to cut the gorgeous (deep pink) frame .  I printed the sentiment on to the white card stock and set it behind the frame.  This set along with everything at MyGraphico are all on sale today only for 50% off.  This set is a mere $2.00, can you believe that!  All 6 frames and they cut like butter too.  I used the butterfly from Tattered Angels and Tim Holtz distress ink, a little Stickles and the stick on pearls to make this quick card.  Be sure to stop and shop at MyGraphico today and snag some great bargains from a cool variety of designers like Mujka Chic and Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.

Sew Sweet

What a fun SVG to work with, this sweet little sewing machine from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff cut like butter.  So did the pretty doily from La.La. Studio, another MyGraphico designer.  I cut the machine in black and in silver, I love all the details she added to this cut.  The buttons are Stampin Up and the twine is from Pizazz A Plenty.  The stitched card stock is from a Sams Club jumbo pack I split with a friend a few years ago.  The vintage lace is from a tag sale and the fabric flower is from my fabric stash.   Be sure to stop by Lindsay's blog along with her other talented designers to see fabulous work they have done.
Well, we are still working on the back splash, ran into a few challenges but we are hopefully getting over them, Mr Perfect needed to be persuaded that it did indeed look good like this, lol.  Thanks for stopping by to have a look.  ~Diane

Feast or famine!

I made these cards with Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Cupcake Carrier SVG set.  Don't miss out on the MyGraphico 1 day sale 7/14/11, 40% off everything, including this sweet set!
It was a breeze to make these, even with most of my supplies moved out of my craft room.  I could not get to all my papers so I used the same paper for the first 3 cards, used some glimmer mist and color wash to change it up a bit.  I cut out the Lindsays Stamp Stuff Cupcakes Carrier cupcake pieces with my SCAL software easy peasy, and made the lines with my Martha Stewart score board, then used a little Tim Holtz distress ink to color in the cupcake wrappers.  The cherries and flames were sparkled up with some stickles, except the one I used my Atyou Spica pen to glitter up.  The pink glitter was so easy to apply with Scrapbook Adhesives adhesive sheets.
I am really sorry I have not been visiting or creating much, it just feels so chaotic with everything I own scattered around, even my computer.  I am a really organized person so this really messes with my head.   I appreciate all of your comments and well wishes, the remodel is moving along.  I can't wait till it is done and I can go back to the way things were before.  I really appreciate your understanding especially Lindsay, thank you all.

Thank you Lacee and the Bella's

First off I want to thank Lacee from Bella Creations.  Whoo hoo, I won the gorgeous mini kit Heavenly from the June blog hop.  It arrived last night and it is full of goodies that she put together.  I can't wait to dig into it!  Stop by to see her latest kit, it's awesome too!  Speaking of Bella's, I made this card for 3 different groups over at Bella Creations.  Voila Ink has challenged us to make a Fathers Day item, anything but a tag.  It must include some inking and as an optional twist, use masking somewhere on the project.  And the Oh la la group is accepting cards this month so it qualifies for that Bella challenge also!  I used Memento Brown ink to stamp the message "so thankful for you".  "For You" did not stamp out well so I used some inspiration from Pops work and stamped it again on some cardboard.  I like the added texture it gives.  I used a Tim Holtz mask with broken china blue ink also.  The image was provided by  Gecko Galz for the June challenge at Cartes Classiques, another group at Bella Creations The dp is a Graphics Fairy old french map.  I would love to see you join one of the many challenges over at the Bella Creations community, so many wonderful sponsors are there too.

Traveler in time

This was so much fun to make!  I used Inka's Altered Artifacts new set Monkey Bizz and Steampunks to make this.  I also used some of her free images to keep it pure.  The fish was cut out of a piece of wrapping paper, I thought it added the right touch.  I don't know if you can see I used Stickles on the birds and on the fish.  I sprayed the background ledger paper with Tattered Angels Wheatfields and used Tim Holtz tea dye on the torn edges, I also let it curl up a bit.  The doilies were sprayed with TH butterscotch, and lettuce green along with the firebrick red dauber.  I also used some Stampin Up Crystal Effects on the clock faces and on the young man's eye glass. Stop by Inka's Altered Artifacts Etsy shop to see more fun images like this.

My Mojo likes Grunge

I made this tag for the challenge at Studio L3, Grungy Monday   called Texture Fades and Distress,  I followed the Tim Holtz video to emboss the ink right into my tag.  The image is Graphics 45 Once Upon a Springtime.  I used Stickles all over the flowers and leaves.  The pretty pearl brads are from Pizzazz Aplenty.  I used Ranger Distress Inks in my Tim Holtz Texture fades Patchwork embossing folder.   Then finished it off with Tattered Angels Glimmer mist in Coffee Bean and Wheatfields. This is my first tag and first grunge piece.  Grunge is hard for me, I am too much of a perfectionist.  It really bothers me if I glue something down slightly askew, so I really had to let go with this piece.  Easier said than done, I still wanted to control exactly how those inks landed, ha ha.  It was fun, I think my Mojo enjoyed being let go a bit.

Blue n Bell

This was another fun project to make.  I used Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Bold Black and White printed on Coredinations blue cs.  The awesome Gothic Arch is a printable or SVG file from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff also.  The gorgeous articulated images Bluenbell are from Inka at Altered Artifacts.  She has a program that allows you to work with one of her new images for free if you sign up, check it out here.  I used Tim Holtz tape and the bg image was a freebie from Dover.  I have never worked with articulated figures before, I wasn't quite sure how to connect them so I put them together by using a short piece of string to connect the pieces so they stay moveable.

Waiting for Spring

I am so tired of the snow here in Michigan, this lovely stamp Daisy Floral from Scrolls Work Stamps will hopefully chase the snow away.  I used the Level Up technique from my Technique Junkies Newsletter, I really like the effect.  I used my Tim Holtz embossing folder, paper scraper tool and Frayed Burlap distressing ink.  The paper has some real pressed flowers in it.  I used a little Tattered Angels Wheatfields glimmer mist.  I colored the large pearls with my markers and the lovely Alexandria (Pale Yellow) lace is from Pizzazz Aplenty.

Colorful Black and White

I left the bottom of the page visible so you could see the different colors of card stock I used.
These were all done using the same print on different colors.
I almost forgot, this is what the whole set looks like.
Today I want to show you this Bold Black and White Paper set from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  Isn't it beautiful?   This pack of 10  beautiful designs is only 2.99, you can't beat that.  What I like best about this set is that it does not use any colored ink it only uses the black ink and you get to choose what color to print it on.  This makes it super easy to achieve the right shades of color for your projects.  I also used the Sketchy Leaves set along with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tea Dye, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Wheatfields, Stampin Up card stock and embossing plate, pearls and the sweet seam binding is some RAK from Lindsay.  Speaking of Lindsay, stop by her blog The Frugal Crafter today to see what crafty goodness she has along with the Thursday freebie she so generously offers.  Don't forget the rest of the Design Team, Lindsay has quite a few new sets I'm sure they will be showcasing beautifully.

Sympathy card

I love this image from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Many Blessings set and this card was so easy to make!  I printed it twice on white and once on that gorgeous shiny gold cs.  I cut one leaf from the white and the cross from the the gold, and left the other white to cut with Spellbinders Labels 8 Nestabilities.  I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Deep Plum and Turquoise Blue.  I sprayed both on my tissue paper then I blotted the card onto the wet tissue.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink Dusty Concord and a Sizzix Texture Plate.  The leaf punch is Stampin Up and I crocheted my flower.  Pop over to Lindsay's blog The Frugal Crafter to see what she has made and to pick up one of her free images.  Stop by the LSS MyGraphico store to grab some last minute Halloween images and definitely visit my DT sisters blogs to see all of the awesome ideas they have to share.  Did I tell you those ladies are super talented?  See for yourself.

Have you ever been Ghosted?

I am getting ready to "Ghost" some of my neighbors; put a bag of treats together with a photocopy of a ghost and a note telling them to make a copy, put the ghost in their window, and "ghost" someone who hasn't been ghosted yet.  These clear acetate cards will go well, no one will know who they are from because I sneak up, ring the doorbell and run!   I made these with the Creepy Crow set from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  I printed one of them onto a sheet of orange vellum the other onto a sheet of white card stock.  I cut around  everything, leaving the crow, moon and tree intact.  I added googly eyes, a little white opaque ink to one crow,  and some Tim Holtz Distress Ink scattered straw to the one with the white moon.  I glued the cut outs to the acetate cards which are 5 x 7.
Be sure to stop by Lindsay's blog today, she always has a special Thursday freebie for you.  Stop by the Lindsay's Stamp Stuff store to take advantage of the 30% off sale too.  I hope you stop by my DT sisters blogs to see what awesome inspiration they have to share with you also.  Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Distressing Halloween

Everything in the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff Shop is 40% off today (Thursday) until midnight!

For Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Thursday I used the new Vintage Halloween Labels set.  There are 7 labels in this set and it's on sale today for $2.70.    Many of these labels work well with Nesties too.  I went all out on the distressing of this card.  I used my favorite Stampin Up Texture Plate Kit 4 Distressed, with my Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tea Dye and Scattered Straw.  I also used Tim Holtz distressing tool on the edges.   Spellbinders Classic Circles Nestabilities, gold wire ric rac, Spica Atyou gold ink and a ton of dimensionals to lift everything up.   One of the nicest features of digital images is that you can size them as you like, I like how the flourish works well as a background on this card.   Please check out the talented LSS Design Team for more fantastic ideas using stamps from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff!  Be sure to stop by Lindsay's blog today to pick up your free stamp and don't forget about the sale, 40% off everything in her store 1 day only!

Good Morning, this weeks Tuesday challenge at Kahwinkedink is to make a Mans Card.  This is normally such a challenge for me but with the new Military Men images it was easy!  I used the Tank You image for my card.  I used the paper piecing technique and printed the images onto this camouflage dp from Paper Pizzaz.  The silver cs is from Stampin Up, I embossed the Tim Holtz ideaology sprocket gears right on to it with my Wizard.  The words were cut with Cricut Plantin Schoolbook.  Stop over to the Kahwinkedink blog and join us for this challenge.  You can pick up the free digi of the week while you are there.  Thanks for looking, ~Diane
