Quick and easy gift card tins.

I made these a while back, they were featured in the Ready, Set Create August issue so I can post them now.  I used the Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Steampunk Style stamp set along with a couple of her freebies to make these.  They were so easy to make, I just printed them out, traced the top of the gift card tin and cut them out.  I added some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Turquoise Blue, Deep Plum and Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tea Dye and I even embossed one with Stampin Up Texture Plates Kit 4 Distressed.  I glued the card stock to the tins with Art Glitter Glue Dries Clear and voila, I was done.
You are invited to stop by Lindsay's blog The Frugal Crafter to see what she has to share today and to pick up your free image.  My DT Sisters have some awesome inspiration  to share also.  They never stop amazing me!  Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

I’ve chosen to do a tutorial on pop-up cards since I get a lot of positive feedback on them. I’ll give you some easy step-by-step instructions.

You can follow the link to see my pop up tutorial on the front page there under Featured Artist!  They also chose another one of my cards for the 9/26/10 publication.  I wrote a tutorial on Pop Up cards with a new card I made just for the article.   I am so excited and honored to be chosen, I hope you have a chance to take a look.  Scrapbook News and Review has both a Ning community site and the magazine site.  Check out their submission card calls, the magazine is awesome.
"Each issue is jam packed with dozens of articles, technique tutorials and over 400 layouts, cards and projects! We also have sketches, product reviews, photography tips, digi templates and a rockin' mixed media section."
Thanks for letting me share my excitement with you.   ~Diane

Vintage Shadowbox for Mum

These card photo's will return 30 days after publication in the April issue.
Visit Scrapbook News and Review for more exciting cards and inspiration.

I am so excited to share this with you!  This was such a thrill to work on too.  My friend Jan at Papercraft Pleasures gave me one of her Accucut Die cuts to work with.  This Shadow Box is such a gorgeous lay out to work with.  Sorry if I am showing off with all my pictures, but I had to get you all the views, there are so many views to see!  The Paper is my favorite Graphics 45, it has such a romantic feel to it.  The photo's are from
Dover Electronic Clip Art - Victorian Fashion Accessories, this is the first time I have used any of the images.  I used the Sepia tones to print them out in Word, to give them more of a Vintage look.   The cameo charm is from Blue Moon's Madame Delphines Collection.  I used Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress Ink  in Tea Dye to age all the edges and the white satin ribbon.  I cut the letters with Cricut Plantin Schoolbook.   The garden image is from an old garden book on Victory Gardens, mixing Era's just a little.  The lace trims are the stash of hand crocheted I bought a while back, they were old so they needed no aging.  The pearls are from JoAnns.  Thank you Jan for the opportunity to work with this lovely Accucut Die Cut, and as always, thanks for looking, ~Diane

Paper and More Vellum

I am proud to say this card was out for Publication in Scrapbook News and Review.

These are the 3 finished cards

Punch vellum and glue together, add glue to top of the vellum flower,
then press the glue into the beads, it will pick them up for you.

Cut tracing paper to size, attach to card with glue dots.

Print sentiment on computer, cut into a strip and add behind tracing paper,
use glue dots here also.

Use glue dots to attach the ribbon to the tracing paper.

I really like the look of vellum, and I love to work with it. It gives you so many more creative opportunities. I found a fabulous source for vellum also, Paper And More has a beautiful selection of vellum and other card stock quite reasonably priced. I ordered the sample packs in both the light and dark colors, and I had a terrible time deciding which ones I wanted to buy! I used my birthday money to buy 2 - 100 sheet packages. I was able to split my 100 sheets into 4 colors for a few extra dollars, so I have 200 sheets, in 8 beautiful colors that I will be showing you from time to time. The flowers on the cards I am showing here were made with the Blush Pink Vellum. I used the StampinUp punch to punch out the delicate flowers, I then glued them together with Scotch quick dry adhesive. I used tracing paper on top of the card stock and it gave it a very delicate look. I cut the leaves with my Cricut expression. I posted pictures of the process with notes above. I hope you like these, I am pleased with how they turned out.~Diane

50th wedding Anniversary card

I am so proud to say this card will be published in the Scrapbook News and Review!

Ok, so I found a new idea and I'm running with it. I love this design with the vellum insert and the beading. I think the gold color card stock and vellum really changes it up.
I would love to hear from anyone on the Zyron sticker maker machines. I am thinking of purchasing one, but some of the reviews claim they are impossible to re load. I think I want to get the 500, which does the 5" wide stickers. I plan to use it on vellum sentiments that I print out on the computer. Does anyone out there have one? I think people are more likely to write a bad review than a good one, so I'm hoping I can ignore the bad stuff. Please help me out if you can, I would love to hear from you, good or bad. Thanks again for looking.
