Christmas Card a Week #5

Hi All, I found another fun Christmas Card challenge called Merry Monday Christmas challenge  through my friend Leanne, so I made this card to fit the theme of  Chocolate Brown, Green, Gold and White or Cream!   It took me a bit to find the right image but I finally found this one from  Magic Moonlight, it was a free image I saved a long time ago.  I tried gold flock on the little birdies, but I like the Stickles Gold Glitter better.  I used Stampin Up Chocolate Brown for the 1/8th and 1/16th frames I cut with my Perfect Layers Rulers.  The green envelope and background paper are from Gecko Galz Grandmothers House papers.  This is my 5th card for my Christmas card stash, I am really happy I am accomplishing 2 of my goals for this year, to enter more challenges and to get my Christmas cards done before November.  Well, that's it for today, thanks for stopping by.   ~Diane

Butterfly Pixies Pop Up Card

Today I am posting a special card I made for my dear friend Valerie.  Most of the images of the beautiful Butterfly winged Fairies come from the Gecko Galz set called Pixie Dust.  If you look closely you can see it is another one of my Pop Up cards, where I layer it from the center out, one image extending on to another.  If you are interested in making one I have a post with step by step instructions here.  The real butterflies are from Magic Moonlight, free digital images (I have had them in my file for a long time you may have to search to find them there.)  The front ticket with the pretty bird is a free image from Emily at Sweetly Scrapped, it is one of her free business cards that I went into Pic Monkey and edited to say Thank you.  I wrote Valeries name and signed my own in Stickles.   (I didn't have a picture of her name on the card so I used the one she had featured on her blog).  I used my  Perfect Layers Rulers to get the precise layers on the front of my card.  And, and, and, I printed these all out on HP Matte Matte photo paper.
I am entering this into the Gecko Galz Ephemera Emporium Crafting Challenge from the Yahoo group:The Summer Garden Challenge

Praying for you card.

I thought I would show you how much paper I save using my Perfect Layers Rulers, this is just one of the reasons I love it.  The card is 5x7 and the sheets of card stock are 8.5x11.  I cut 2 blue frames and 2 black frames using less than a half sheet of card stock, isn't that great!  I glued my image right on to the full sheet of blue, cut my frame, then did the same on to the black card stock cut the larger frame from the patterned cs, then did another black and blue frame.  I flipped the piece in the middle photo so you can see I don't even need to place it correctly, I can glue it on crooked and it will still cut a perfect border.   I used 2 different size prints of the patterned cs, (I had not made the decision to use the larger sheet as yet.)  The image is free from Magic Moonlight, the paper is Nouveau Nights from Gecko Galz, solid color cardstock is Stampin Up.  I used a Spellbinders NEST-SET-4 Spellbinders Nestabilities Dies for the sentiment a little Tim Holtz distress ink and the lace flower is from Pizzaz Aplenty.  For more information on the Perfect Layers Rulers and a 5% discount, use my coupon code Bove5% here.  Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Ho Ho Ho Holiday Sale at Lindsay's Stamp Stuff

Lindsay is so generous, she is offering her 50% off sale before the Holidays so you still have time to shop and make something in time for Christmas.  Everything is 1/2 off through December 4th.  That means there is still time to pick up this awesome SVG Envelope and Envelope liner set  that I am totally in love with, it cuts like butter!
I made the card using Cheri Wenger's SVG Framing Shapz 1, the white panel is loaded with glitter, I don't think it shows up in the picture though.  The image is a freebie from Magic Moonlight, the SVG snowflake is a freebie from Birds Cards.  The bakers twine and rhinestones are from Pizzazz Aplenty.
I have a tip to share with you today too.  Get a little extra life out of your cutting mats by washing them in soapy water, let air dry.  Once dry give a light spray with a spray adhesive like 3M Super 77, it gives it the light tack of the original mats.  I've tried using the Zig 2 way glue, but that makes them so sticky that I am cleaning paper for days.
A little late in the week but I am joining in the party at Make it Monday #65.  Thanks for looking.  ~Diane
