Happy Mail to share

I wanted to share with you all the lovely things my beautiful friend Valerie sent me.  You can see more of her amazing work on her blog Bastelmania.  She is an exceptional artist and friend, I must say this truly brought tears to my eyes when I opened it.  She sent it for no reason at all, just because we are friends.  Believe me her friendship is a gift in itself, I am blessed to have her as a friend and I treasure her friendship.  I wish the photos were better to show you all the beauty here, the little inchie book is made from a 6x6 piece of paper, folded to a maze book and topped with the beautiful bouquet of roses.  She made the beautiful box it fits into and included a beautiful bracelet that glimmers in the light!  The tin was covered, varnished and and lined inside, she made a little book to fit inside,
that says "Dance to the music of your life", it looks gorgeous.  And all sorts of wonderful things to play with, she shared some of her famous gold Utee, (I have never seen the gold), 2 sets of beautiful chipboard pieces, a beautiful embroidered bag, some beautiful papers (which will be hard to cut into), a beautiful collage sheet and some gorgeous sheer fabric splashed with silver.  Can you believe the box went all the way from Germany to Michigan, USA with the beautiful jewel still attached to that blue flower?!  But what I am most grateful for is her friendship, she is a sweet, wonderful woman who is extremely interesting, I always look forward to reading her emails.
That's it for today, thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone!  I made this card for my dear friend Valerie (Bastelmania is her lovely blog) who had some knee surgery.  I know she loves Halloween so I thought the play on words would be fun for her, it was, she loved it.  I stuffed the kettle with some extra bottles of witchy potion so she would have some to play with too.  The spooky paper is a freebie from Gecko Galz, Lee Ann is always so generous with the free images.  The skull border, cauldron and spider web are all free cut files from Bird, (Birds Cards is her blog), she too is very generous with her beautiful and free cut files.  I cut the cauldron from gold mirror stock and then embossed it, added ruby rhinestones to the skull eyes and the tiny spiders too.  I printed all my images on glossy photo paper, I even splurged and used it for the envelope liner.
Sorry I have not been posting much, my house is still under construction, still can not locate half of my craft stuff, but the end is in sight.  My computer crashed twice too and getting all of that together again has been a challenge too.  Spent the better part of yesterday finding and installing all of my additional fonts.  Installing all of my old programs too has been fun, but I am fortunate that my son builds computers so he helped with all the hard stuff, I get to do the fun re install work.
Just a note to all of you who have been affected by Sandy, all of you in that region are in my prayers.
Hope you all have a safe and Happy Halloween, don't eat too much candy!
Thanks for looking.   ~Diane

Birthday treasures

I want to share the beautiful Birthday presents I received from my friend Valerie, you can see her beautiful blog Bastelmania.  Some of these I can show you you but the best present you can not see, it is the present of friendship that I have received from Valerie and  my other blogging friends, that one sits in my heart.
One of the things Valerie is famous for are her beautiful envelopes and box decorations, I tried to camouflage the addresses yet still show you the beautiful stamping on my box.   You really need to stop by her blog, she is an amazing, talented artist.  You can see the gorgeous ribbons she sent too.  There is a red satin and yellow that have little wooden butterflies that are covered in gingham cloth, along with a beautiful sheer ribbon and a strand with pearls.  The blue ribbon has a beautiful satin flower with the stranded pearls and green leaves.  These are gorgeous!
This is a musical card, when you open it it has a recorder inside that plays Happy Birthday!  I did not realize right away, but the beautiful gold filigree stickers spell out my name too!
The postcard is made from one of her journal paintings that she had sent out and made into postcards.  She made the jewelery pieces for the tag too, they have pretty gold wire intertwined.
This is a mini journal she made, I opened it up so you could see both the front and back cover, as I think they are both gorgeous!
She also sent me these gorgeous stamps, the LaBlanche rabbit has such an expression and I love the My Minds Eye set, I already have some ideas for what to make with them!
The Jolee bling is all glittery and has rhinestones and the embossed chipboard is awesome, I have never seen anything like that!
And last but not least a beautiful card from my friend Karin at With an "i" for Paper.  So many beautiful details wrapped into this card.  I recognize the set she used to make this Strawberries and Watermelon from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff where we met on Lindsay's design team.
Old friends, new friends, to all my blogging friends I am truly blessed for knowing many of you as well as I do.  I never would have guessed I would be celebrating my 60th birthday as a blogger.  Life is good, thank you all, Valerie and Karin and to all of you, thanks for looking.  ~Diane
