Fun with my Zing

Hi All, I have a card to share today that I made using a new fun technique I stumbled upon thanks to the the awesome pen holders Steven at 3D Yours made for me.  This awesome pen holder is for my KNK Zing machine.   He made it so I could use the Sakura Gelly Roll pen in my KNK Zing, as those pens don't fit in the standard Zing pen holder.  What is really cool is that I also found out that I can also use the Sakura Quickie Glue pen in my Zing now too, they have the same barrel size so his holder works for both!

Now to the fun part, the glue pen allows me to heat emboss and cut the same project!  I love it!  So many more possibilities now!   For this card I used some beautiful free SVG files from Monicas Creative Room.  I used her Fancy Edge card 3 to die cut the bottom border of the card and the beautiful snowflakes are called Layerd Snowflakes 3, they look gorgeous embossed in white opaque embossing powder.

For all of you with die cutting machines, please check out Stevens Etsy Store called 3D Yours , he has pen holders for all sorts of pens and machines.  I also have another of his pen holders that will fit the Sharpie Ultra Fine pens.  If your machine is not there, ask him about it, that's what I did and he worked to get these made for me!  (I can not thank you enough Steven, the pen holders are really awesome!) They are really nicely made too, the pens snap into the holders for a really nice fit, no need to fiddle around or add anything extra to get it to work, just snap it on the barrel of the pen and screw it into place on the Zing!

I hope this finds everyone doing well, thank you as always for stopping by and thanks again Steven, the pen holders are awesome!   ~Diane

  2. What a beautiful card.
Curious as to how you heat and emboss with a glue pen?

  3. My KNK Zing has an attachment so that I can put a pen in it. Steven at 3D Yours has made a nice holder so I put the Sakura Quickie Glue pen to draw the 3 large snowflakes. Once they were drawn in glue I took the card off the cutting mat and quickly added some white opaque embossing powder. The embossing powder clings to the glue, then I used a heat gun to set it. You can use anything slow drying to emboss with, a slow drying pigment ink works the same as a slow drying glue, this glue has a bit of time and works beautifully. I hope this helps. If you have anymore questions let me know. ~Diane

Have a nice weekend and Happy Thanksgiving!

  11. Wow! So intricate. Love the white snowflakes on blue rather than black. Reminds me of free standing embroidering pieces which I guess you could use as well?
