Paint it

Hi All, I had so much fun making this tag for Tag Tuesdays prompt Africa and the City Crafters Challenge to "paint it ".  I am not much of a painter so I guess that's why I am so happy with my result.  I sprayed my tag with some Glitz Spritz just to get it wet and add some more shimmer, then I used my wet paint brush to paint on pink, yellow and blue Yasutomo paints, they already have some shimmer but last time I tried them they were really thick.  Wetting the tag was key to getting a light clean coat I think.  Both images were from the Graphics Fairy, I mounted the Zebra on some foam dots and added the blue jewels.  The black lines in the pale yellow ribbon are supposed to look like zebra print, lol.  I had fun getting out of my comfort zone and painting this tag.  So I will be entering this into *City Crafters Challenge Paint it Challenge.  Pop by and see all the beautiful work the DT has done over there.  That's it, thanks for stopping by.  ~Diane

  1. Diane being from the Southern tip of Africa myself, I just love this creation. But I must say its the first time I have seen a zebra with a saddle on.

  3. Awesome tag Diane. Great job painting the tag. Love how the zebra is so vibrant against the muted background. Did you add this to the Yahoo Group Challenge for April - Uncharted Territory (maps)? It is perfect for the challenge.

  7. Hi Diane, Your tag turned out wonderful. Love the theme and the painted colors with the shimmer is so pretty and a nice contrast to the zebra. Clever idea to add the stripes to the ribbon. Wetting really does the trick for a smooth finish. Beautiful.
